I’ve been watching Are You the One Since it premiered a week ago and honestly I haven’t felt any urge to write about it substantively on the merits or lack thereof. The drama starring Zhang Wan Yi and Wang Chu Ran still has my interest to click on new episodes every day but I FF more than I watch as … Continue reading →
Well this is disheartening news to hear but the silver lining is that the future looks healthy for K-actor Jang Geun Seok. This weekend he revealed to a news program that he had recently had thyroid cancer surgery, after being diagnosed over a year ago. This would explain why he hasn’t been active during that time. Thyroid cancer if caught … Continue reading →
The good thing about the flop that was Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact with Yang Mi and Gong Jun is that it was quick come and quick go. No one is talking about it anymore which is good for the next two chapters on deck, initially after the first chapter tanked the next one Love in Pavilion with Liu … Continue reading →
There are way worse rookie rides than Chang Hua Sen in last year’s wuxia C-drama A Journey to Love, he had the visuals in terms of height and looks and his acting was earnest in that trying too hard way. The problem was his character as the lovelorn younger disciple with the one-sided love towards his master who was the … Continue reading →
I’m still rather perplexed that I went from nope to liking C-actress Wu Jin Yan thanks to one drama, but then that is the beauty of acting and of viewers keeping an open mind. You never know who may suddenly wow you. She recently celebrated her 34th birthday this week and in C-ent that’s like near ancient age unless she’s … Continue reading →
So the backstage fighting with period C-drama Dashing Youth is more interesting to me than the drama itself lol. This wasn’t a big budget drama and premiered right during the Olympics so it was clear Youku wasn’t banking much on it. The earlier buzz was high enough to be promising but quickly lost steam and stayed low-ish through it’s just … Continue reading →
It’s been a busy summer for C-actress Ju Jing Yi, coming off a solidly successful spring C-drama airing of In Blossom. In June her long time agency announced she was going to re-sign with them but she stated it was news to her, and then announced she was not going to re-sign. She then set up her own personal office … Continue reading →
Striking while the iron is hot also means picking the right hills to die on the right now C-actor Deng Wei is looking very foolish after squandering his big break last summer. When Lost You Forever Part 1 was released in summer of 2023, his male lead character Tu Shan Jing was very well liked and his performance garnered a … Continue reading →
Getting released right in the middle of the Summer Olympics is always a sign that the platform treats the drama as a throwaway, and this one definitely performed as such. The Republic era fantasy vampire romance drama Snowfall adapted from a novel was filmed over 3 years ago and starred Gao Wei Guang and Ouyang Nana and was shelved reportedly … Continue reading →
The netizens appear just as critical on looks for both female stars as well as male stars and the latest person in their cross hairs is TW-singer Wilbur Pan. This week there was a wild picture of him like two sizes bigger circulating with mockery of his massive weight gain, and it turns out to a doctored shot. However he … Continue reading →
This is still in the discussion phase but could start production soon after confirming the leads if both schedules line up. The xianxia C-novel 销魂殿 Xiao Hun Dian (or Ecstasy Palace) from writer 十四郎 Shi Si Lang has been purchased by production company Huan Rui Century and has offers out to Cheng Yi and Yu Shi Xin for the adaptation. … Continue reading →
I feel like Tang dynasty period C-drama Brocade Odyssey is one of those long on the shelf projects just waiting for release but my recollection is totally off as the drama filmed in Q4 2024. That means if it airs in the coming weeks it’s actually arriving earlier than expected but the timing is good for the cast as female … Continue reading →
I’m excited that Tang dynasty C-drama The Story of Pearl Girl is arriving sooner than I expected on the small screen. The drama released two new stills last week of leads Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning and when I went looking for airing rumors the latest is that post-production just finished and the drama team plans to do … Continue reading →
