I think the last few episodes of Empress Ki have been slowly setting the stage for the second ship to sail in Ta Hwan and Seung Nyang. If she had become his consort unwillingly or unwittingly, then I can imagine the drama making it so she doesn’t ever love him and spends her days pining after Wang Yoo. But Seung … Continue reading →
This supposed juicy hook up tabloid fodder out of Taiwan entertainment is too cute not to report. One of Taiwan’s top tabloids Next Magazine has splashed all over its cover of last week’s edition the possible unexpected romance between veteran actress-producer Ruby Lin and top idol singer Show Luo. I have to get this out of the way first, regardless … Continue reading →
I continue my perplexed fascination with Lee Min Ho‘s wardrobe, whether it’s in dramas, photo shoots, or events. He’s making a big splash in China by landing the cover of Cosmopolitan China magazine with a huge photo spread. Heirs was a massive hit in China and he’s capitalized on the popularity by doing a duet with Harlem Yu on CCTV‘s … Continue reading →
This chapter is the first time all three male leads – Zhuan Xu, Jing, and Xiang Liu – all see each other in the same place with Xiao Liu so expect some sparks (maybe?). This chapter 8 of Lost You Forever also marks the end of Xiao Liu’s stay in Qing Shui Town. He did a lot in the nearly thirty years … Continue reading →
In my mind Rainie Yang has been an actress for so long that her three year long hiatus from acting felt like an eternity. I do like bits of her song book but her singing career isn’t as winning for me as her winsome animated acting. Her last drama was Drunken to Love You with Joseph Chang back in 2011, … Continue reading →
I confess to being only mildly excited when news broke that You’re Beautiful co-stars Jang Geun Seok and Park Shin Hye were reuniting for the umpteenth time for an onscreen project. It would be a lot more satisfying if this happened sooner after You’re Beautiful, as well as if they hadn’t been doing CFs together over the years. With that … Continue reading →
What makes In A Good Way so amazing isn’t just that it’s a good drama, what makes it extra special is that it’s good within the context of the normally mediocre TW-drama genre and it has consistently stayed good even deep into its run. Episode 15 today delivered an hour of electric entertainment built on the previous 14 episodes worth … Continue reading →
I’ve barely returned to the land of the living after last week’s epic confession episode 14 of In A Good Way, and then episode 15 promptly turned me back into a zombie. I’m not just any zombie, I’m a pancake zombie that needs to be scraped of the floor with a spatula. How the hell does this drama expect people … Continue reading →
In the span of twenty four hours the K-drama news casting cycle stirred up a veritable netizen storm and I’m still wondering what the heck happened. Was this even a serious casting consideration? The upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs drama Golden Cross, which initially was in talks with Kang Ji Hwan but that fell through after he went off to do Big … Continue reading →
If you aren’t already addicted to Lost You Forever, chapter 7 will flip the switch as the best chapter yet. It’s funny, bittersweet, and unexpectedly dreamy all smushed into one chapter. Each of the three male leads gets their moment with Xiao Liu and you’re left feeling like this will be the most amazing romantic journey ahead for her but … Continue reading →
Who’s still giggling like a school girl from last week’s episode 14 of In A Good Way? I’m totally not ashamed to admit, nor will I deny re-watching the new preview for episode 15 so many times I’ve lost count. Some things are just too good not to enjoy with complete and utter abandon. It’s been a busy drama ending … Continue reading →
Oh noes, not another male lead fallen to the dreaded back injury! Last year Jung Kyung Ho injured his back towards the end of filming Cruel City and the poor guy endured through the drama wrapping before getting treatment. The first on set injury this year comes out of Taiwan as Lego Lee‘s old lumbar injury has flared up and … Continue reading →
SBS weekends have been pretty lackluster for me for a long time. The last weekend drama I enjoyed (somewhat) was Cheongdamdong Alice. The ones after that like Birth Secret, Goddess of Marriage, and Thrice Married Woman have all been singularly hard to watch. Not bad per se, just not very fun to slog through. Coming up next is Angel Eyes, … Continue reading →
