Episode 2 of Bride of the Century dipped a toe in the well of love (me loving this drama, I mean), but episode 3 opened the floodgates and it’s full blown love love love now! I watched this episode with a giant grin on my face and everything is clicking like on a perfectly run assembly line. This story is … Continue reading →
It’s amusing to watch how the main leads have really struck a chord with the readers, so much so that I’ve seen sadness over Jing leaving and clamoring for more Xiang Liu who hasn’t shown up for two chapters. Rest assured all three male leads are here to stay, but Lost You Forever is still first and foremost Xiao Yao’s … Continue reading →
Following along with the filming of the latest drama adaptation of the wuxia novel Return of the Condor Heroes has been an endless well of WTF mirth. First producer Yu Zheng casts the least suitable leading lady Xiaolongnu in of all time by selecting Michelle Chen. Then he proceeds to photo shop half of her off in official drama stills … Continue reading →
I was pretty hooked already in episode 1 of Bride of the Century, but episode 2 easily turned it into a full blown addiction. I decided to recap this baby after I watched the first two episodes last week, having two consecutive entertaining episodes to start things off is a gift horse I’ll not look in the mouth. If this … Continue reading →
The power of In A Good Way is in the details, the little moments, the stuff that probably wouldn’t even make it onscreen in other dramas but becomes the focal point here. Episode 16’s new video preview doesn’t have a lot of new stuff but does expand on the whole “what base” girl and guy talk lobbed at new couple … Continue reading →
Taiwan dramas hasn’t produced an onscreen drama couple quite as popular as Aaron Yan paired with Puff Guo in quite some time. The heydays of Joe Cheng–Ariel Lin or Rainie Yang–Mike He are long past, and occasionally there is a couple that takes their real life attraction and sells it in drama land like George Hu and Annie Chen. I … Continue reading →
I’m having such a great time translating Lost You Forever and am loving all the great discussion in the comments section of each chapter. Those asking what they can do to in thanks for my taking on this translation project? Comment more and go ahead and share your thoughts, that makes the hard work worth it for me knowing I’m … Continue reading →
This recapping project is probably a very bad idea on my part and the potential for regret seems rather high, but right now I’m inexplicably obsessed with Bride of the Century after thinking no current K-drama would lure me back in the foreseeable future. Airing on cable network Chosun TV, which is one of the least well know Korean cable … Continue reading →
Oooohhhh, me likes this new project and casting. Hallyu superstar Rain, whose star has dimmed significantly in his own South Korea after some controversy with his military service behavior and for daring to date a smart nice fellow actress like Kim Tae Hee, has steadily continued with his own career since returning from the army last year. He released a … Continue reading →
There is a Chinese saying that “a bat knocks over an entire boatload of people”, meaning the power of something is just so great or the effect so unexpectedly vast. I think Lego Lee‘s skyrocketing popularity since In A Good Way started airing feels a bit like that. He’s always been adorable, a pretty decent actor, I’ve like him but … Continue reading →
New TW-drama alert, and this coming hot on the heels of Rainie Yang filming her first drama in three years and Joe Cheng‘s drama coming soon, I think an old school revival is headed our way. Mike He just started filming a new TW-drama called Bravely Say I Love You for the cable network CTI and will mark their first self-produced … Continue reading →
The action switches in Lost You Forever from little Qing Shui Town to the vast Palace of the Gao Xing Kingdom, and with it Xiao Liu’s past as Xiao Yao finally catches up to her. By the time Lost You Forever rolls, around the Sheng Nong Kingdom has fallen and the world of the Gods has only the two remaining … Continue reading →
I was wondering if the K-entertainment dating spree had ended what with a good two months without any major dating announcements. I personally don’t care about all that dating other then it felt like this amazingly roll where one couple begat another so I didn’t want it to end. There has been a lot of cross-over couples as well recently … Continue reading →
