Perfect. The ending sequence to episode 20, the penultimate episode of You From Another Star, was absolute sheer hilarious heart-stopping perfection. First time this drama made me cry, and it did so in a way that seamlessly unfurled the romance between the two leads that had been built up until this point. I had a hunch the moment the awkward … Continue reading →
Miss Korea is like that tagline for an old school Folger’s Coffee commercial – “Good until the last drop.” While I’m relieved not to be penning a recap for the final episode that requires mental gymnastics to make sense of what happened or an emotional explanation to take away feelings of disappointment, I don’t want to stack MK up against … Continue reading →
You can sense that Xiao Liu’s time being Xiao Liu is slowly coming to an end. Lost You Forever tells its story in years, tens of years, hundreds of years, since the leads are all mystical gods and demons and beings of magical spiritual powers. Because they seem to have it all, it makes it even more painful to see … Continue reading →
The casting roulette keeps on turning and today there are more switch ups in the upcoming later Spring K-dramas. I’m actually way happier with how this turned out than the initial arrangement. Coming off a massive career making hit drama Answer Me 1994, Go Ara was in talks to join the MBC Mon-Tues drama Triangle with Lee Bum Soo and … Continue reading →
The first casting stirrings are emerging in the K-drama adaptation of the Japanese manga Nodame Cantabile. Fans of the almost perfect Japanese version dorama starring Tamaki Hiroshi and Ueno Juri might still be cringing in fear of the eccentric story getting massaged into some sort of K-drama love triangle hero-in-training arc, but the production company Group 8 that owns the … Continue reading →
Those not watching In A Good Way are totally missing out on the best mood enhancer available right now. The new video preview for episode 15 just dropped and I swear it was an instantaneous pick me up. I’m grinning cheek-to-cheek and rolling around like I’m sixteen and tomorrow’s the prom with the cute guy I have a crush on. … Continue reading →
I’ve been complaining about SM C&C signing Jung So Min towards the end of last year and then doing nothing with her. Happily there is some movement on its part and it’s been a good two weeks as a Jung So Min fan. First she joined the upcoming KBS drama Big Man as the second female lead with a crush … Continue reading →
The cast of the sprawling weekend K-drama Hotel King held its first script reading recently and MBC released the stills to the masses dying for the reunion drama between Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook. Let’s not kid ourselves, this thing has nary an interesting thing going for it aside from the My Girl OTP having another go at … Continue reading →
I’m so happy so many folks are as enchanted by this novel as I am and are following along. It feels like the book club days of Da Mo Yao and Yun Zhong Ge are back, but I understand Lost You Forever plops everyone right into the story so it’s harder to discuss in the early chapters without much information … Continue reading →
The entertainment world promotional cycle is pretty predictable. If a star has an upcoming or current project, it’ll usually be accompanied by photo spreads and CFs and other activities all at the same time. Kang Ji Hwan is headed back to the small screen in April with Big Man on KBS and he’s also gracing the pages of Singles Magazine … Continue reading →
The new stills are out for next week’s new episodes of Empress Ki and I’m swooning already. A royal hunting expedition is organized and we see Consort Seung Nyang and Emperor Ta Hwan dressed to hunt in all their imperial splendor. It’s the first time Seung Nyang and Ta Hwan have gone horse backing riding and shooting since his days … Continue reading →
I think I’m going to get an overdose of the 1930’s Shanghai era once the one-two punch of period C-dramas Cruel Romance and Lady and Liar when both hit the airwaves. It’s not just the setting that I love, I’m interested in both stories and following Cruel Romance with Chen Qiao En and Huang Xiaoming releasing a teaser last month, … Continue reading →
Is there an air of nostalgia lurking around these days? Why else would I suddenly feel like it’s 2009 now and the crazy days of You’re Beautiful have just passed? Last week the leads of YB Park Shin Hye and Jang Geun Seok re-teamed for their umpteenth CF collaboration together, this time all the way over in China to shill … Continue reading →
