I guess its not time yet for K-actor Jung Hae In to start afresh when it comes to his representation. Right after his last drama Love Next Door finished airing came news that he was renewing or re signing his contract with long time agency FNC Entertainment. He feels the agency has treated him well and he’s very loyal among … Continue reading →
So a bit of levity and curiosity for this week courtesy of C-ent producer Yu Zheng. He posted a fawning SNS update this week introducing a new actress he signed to his agency, gushing over her beauty and how he wasn’t planning to sign anyone else since he added four rookies this year already but couldn’t pass her up because … Continue reading →
The Paris fall fashion shows are over and many top C-actresses were there attending for the brands where each is a global or Asia region ambassador. This week a marketing analysis came out ranking which actresses delivered the value in media (媒体价值) for their brand, i.e. how much the actress added actual dollar value in sales/exposure by the actress being … Continue reading →
The experience of watching Love Next Door for me was a frustrating one so having it end this weekend felt like a release of sorts. Now I don’t have to keep waiting each week for the drama to get better as a whole while accepting the little nuggets of satisfying moments and scenes strung between filler. One thing tvN did … Continue reading →
One of the more entertaining movies I watched in 2022 was TW horror-comedy Marry My Dead Body, which I checked out for Greg Hsu (Hsu Guang Han) and the premise but left with a new appreciation for second male lead Austin Lin (Lim Bo Hong). It was a brilliant casting of the two very similar looking actors in straight/gay and … Continue reading →
So this is like a High Noon standoff and I’m fascinated on the eventual outcome. Top C-actress Sun Li started filming a new thriller modern C-drama with award winning TW-actor Chris Wu (Wu Kang Ren) in his first foray into C-ent. She’s filmed for over two weeks but then went on strike (did not officially drop out of the drama) … Continue reading →
Well this is a bit too reel to real, but still a sad bit of news to report. T-ara member Jiyeon (Park Ji Yeon) and her baseball player husband Hwang Jae Gyun have announced they are divorcing after two years of marriage. Her announcement was more generic but his announcement pointed to personality differences, i.e. your standard irreconcilable differences box. … Continue reading →
Keeping expectations low is the name of the game for me when it comes to upcoming November K-drama Brewing Love. I enjoy both leads Kim Se Jung and Lee Jong Won but remain easily disappointed with K-drama rom-com plots these days. But then I remember how Kim Se Jung hit it out of the part with A Business Proposal and … Continue reading →
I think snow might be a major character in the upcoming wuxia C-drama Snowy Night: Timeless Love (Seven Nights Snow) since the whole backdrop of the snowy valley and cold nights is so prominently featured in all the promos for this drama. iQiyi has scheduled Snowy Night: Timeless Love for next week October 9th premiere so it’s nice to have … Continue reading →
So this is NO SURPRISE whatsoever for anyone following the exploits of C-ent troll producer Yu Zheng, master of his own universe and deliverer of actual hits and stars from time to time. Recently his top actor Xu Kai re-upped his contract with his agency, mainly due to inertia and a lack of ambition but also an awareness that Yu … Continue reading →
So I totally forgot this movie was filming and also fell off from reading updates on new chapters of the webtoon haha. Life got busy and also NGL the Korean webtoon Omniscient Reader Viewpoint just got too long ala One Piece, but not that long yet. The webtoon got a K-movie adaptation announced two years ago with leads Ahn Hyo … Continue reading →
TW-actor Chris Wu (Wu Kang Ren) has been a fave of mind since he debuted nearly two decades ago and he’s become so established and award winning I would compare him to the TW-ent version of K-ent’s Namgoong Min. In those years he’s worked only in Taiwan but that’s changed now as he signed with a Mainland Chinese agency last … Continue reading →
After a few weeks of the costuming atrocity coming out of the xianxia C-drama set of Love Beyond the Grave, this is a bit of eye bleach to cleanse the fugly. New filming stills are out from the set of wuxia C-drama Tales of Dark River and show leads Gong Jun and Peng Xiao Ran filming a scene together when … Continue reading →
