WHAT THE HELL, KBS?!?! Please don’t screw up the tense exhilarating ride that is Nice Guy (The Innocent Man) with what I consider the death knell of dragginess by extending a highly rating drama for the sake of ratings rather than creative necessity. With only 6-episodes left in its 20-episode run, KBS is apparently considering an extension and is in … Continue reading →
Episode 13 wasn’t anywhere near being a stellar episode of Miss Rose, but two things made it fun for me. I had a blast writing this recap, which summoned forth a ton more good-natured snark than I’ve exhibited lately. It’s probably a way for me to let off some steam and anxiety of two straight episodes of Nice Guy where … Continue reading →
Congrats are in order for the cast and crew of In Time With You! The 47th Annual Golden Bell Awards was held in Taipei on Friday night, the Taiwan equivalent of the Emmy’s, and to no one’s surprise the most nominated drama of the night walked away with the most awards. ITWY took home 7 out of its 8 nominations, … Continue reading →
Sometimes drama castings are so unbelievable I need to stop for a moment to even process the pairing. This so shocking I don’t even know where to start. Nagasawa Masami is currently in Taiwan for a long stay filming a TW-drama co-starring Blue Lan. Yes, you heard that right. It’s a 13-episode CTS adaptation of a Japanese manga called Gangster … Continue reading →
I always appreciate when a drama couple I love gets tapped for endorsement deals together, thereby adding more swooniness for me to savor long after the drama has ended. Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy continue to be my adorable bias from Dream High and I always slurp up their cuteness anytime I get any. The clothing brand Bean Pole did … Continue reading →
This episode was so beautiful in its quiet tension. Nice Guy understands that it’s not always about the big moments, the grand reveals, the knock out punches of narrative oomph. Because we have spent 14 episodes getting to know Maru and Eun Gi, their pain and anxiety resonates with us even if it remains sitting there like a ticking time … Continue reading →
Aish, I can’t lie. Two teasers into Missing You and I just don’t like what I see. The story feels so stale and soggy already, even the two sterling young leads Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun can’t sell me their everlasting love that started at the age of fifteen and appears to have been truncated due to the … Continue reading →
The preview for episode 14 of Nice Guy is destroying me. I seriously felt my knees buckle watching it. Holy drama gods this drama hurts so good. The pain in Eun Gi’s eyes as she stands disbelieving of her life filled with no current memories. The way Maru cradles her, hugs her, does everything in his power and with his utmost patience … Continue reading →
I love how Nice Guy continues to adjust my expectations and fiddle with my feelings. When the drama first started, I found Maru and Jae Hee fascinating while Eun Gi felt like an awkward third wheel shoehorned into the proceedings. As the drama progressed, I grew fascinated with Eun Gi while my disgust with both Maru and Jae Hee grew, … Continue reading →
Watching episode 13 of Nice Guy was such a draining process. Seeing how much Maru loves Eun Gi makes me weep, and seeing how Eun Gi is toggling between regaining painful memories and her current helplessness makes me unsure what I would prefer. Would it be best for her to start over now and never try to regain her memories? … Continue reading →
It’s safe to say that pretty much everything Han Hyo Joo touches turns to gold for her. She burst onto the scene at a young age landing the coveted leading lady role in Seasons drama PD Yoon Seok Ho‘s Spring Waltz, which was gorgeous to look at but the story was terrible and poor Han Hyo Joo dressed like the … Continue reading →
Despite the general hue and cry over Choi Kang Hee potentially being cast opposite a ten-year younger Joo Won in Secret Lovers (The Secret Agent Wars), she has in fact been confirmed now for the role. She’s been a rather harmless actress for me up until she did Protect the Boss, where I found her performance effortlessly winning. I loved … Continue reading →
Looks like I’m not the only one going bonkers waiting for episode 14 of Miss Rose to drop since the preview showing an imminent and long overdue kiss between the OTP. Episode 13 recap will be late this week since I’ve got other more pressing real life obligations, but hopefully this will satiate all the MR fans who has faith … Continue reading →
