The first drama stills are out showing Park Bo Gum in action and winning his boxing gold medal and also Kim So … Continue reading →
Even if K-actor Yoo Seung Ho has yet to achieve the heights of popularity that his child actor roots primed him for he’s still one of the most successfully diverse young actors in K-ent these days. Case in point, this fall he will be on stage in Seoul in the stage production of Tony Kushner’s award winning play Angels in … Continue reading →
Next week the K-movie The Land of Happiness will arrive in South Korean theaters and with it conclude the acting career of top actor Lee Seon Kyun. It is the last project in his oeuvre and the second to last movie Project Silence was released last month in July. It’s been a bad summer in the SK box office and … Continue reading →
So this was so long ago I forgot about it but it’s back in the news again. K-actor Lee Jong Seok was supposed to do Netflix romance drama See You Again with Kim Ji Won in 2018, and now an entertainment reporter is revealing that Lee Jong Seok dropped out of the drama the day before script reading was scheduled. … Continue reading →
he South Korean box office. The movie is called Revolver and reads like a fresh take on Lady Vengeance. Starring Jeon Do Yeon as an innocent woman who goes to jail in exchange for a pay off, she goes on the rampage after she’s released from prison and finds the promised cash not there. Her target is played by Ji … Continue reading →
K-actress Kim Tae Ri is a style chameleon to me, the same way her acting and performances are constantly excellent regardless of genre. She can pull off tomboy and feminine soft beauty equally well and for the new Prada fall makeup campaign in South Korea she’s doing the latter flawlessly across various lipstick shades. It helps that she brings a … Continue reading →
This is the kind of popcorn I love since I don’t care about any of the leads and if this turns out a great drama it’ll be nice to watch and if it’s a hot mess it will be a different kind of fun to watch. The C-drama version of demon romance drama Painted Skin is in the casting and … Continue reading →
I liked the first English title but find the second also interesting and cool in its own way, at least there is no word Love in it lol. Period romance drama Hidden Charm has been retitled to Are You the One and is still on track for imminent premiere, all signs say August 8th. It stars Zhang Wan Yi and … Continue reading →
So the Golden Eagle Awards are for the serious fare and most of the Flowers in C-ent are doing idol dramas with the rare one-off to tackle a procedural or war-era period piece. But it is striking that both Yang Mi and Liu Shi Shi are ignominiously called out for being the only two Flowers without a nominated drama in … Continue reading →
The long break for C-actor Yang Yang to get back on the small screen has been good for him after last summer’s disastrous Fireworks of My Heart airing where he got hit with the “oily acting” comments in full force. Since then he’s filmed The Immortal Ascension but no word on when that will air, and end of this month … Continue reading →
The promos are picking up for upcoming Coupang Play drama Cinderella at 2am. I am fine with noona-dongsaeng romances if the chemistry is there but I have strong reservations with female lead Shin Hyun Bin, not because she can’t act but because she has never shown any romantic or sexual chemistry onscreen in any drama I have watched of hers. … Continue reading →
The first Zhao Lu Si plastic surgery rumors were a few years ago and was around her nose, which is usually where it starts. Now it’s back in chatter and reportedly she got more work done on the nose plus the lips and eyes and cheeks. Basically the South Korean special, and she was in SK for a few weeks … Continue reading →
There is a spate of Tang dynasty dramas coming out way and I’ve been following along with the two big ones that filmed this year with Zhao Lu Si in Story of Pearl Girl and Yang Zi with Flourished Peony. But there is an already filmed Tang dynasty drama Brocade Odyssey with Tang Song Yun and Zheng Ye Cheng on … Continue reading →
