A good drama friend of mine (who shall remain anonymous), is not watching Lie to Me. But she almost got blinded by the LTM gif header yesterday when strolling by the playground, leading her to toddle off to watch the last scene of episode 16. Afterwards she whispered to me: “[I] seriously think they must be dating in real life, … Continue reading →
For all Drunken to Love You fans who patiently waited for this recap, I thank thee very much. This recap was late not because of the Lie to Me ending madness, but because I couldn’t find a torrent for two days. ‘Tis true! I think the Drama gods were trying to keep me sane, because if I found a torrent … Continue reading →
While I’ve loved Ai Yazawa since her early work Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, I did NOT like Nana. Yes yes, how could I not like her award-winning work. It just didn’t resonate with me. So I was reluctant to read Paradise Kiss, until suddenly it was about to become a live-action movie starring Kitagawa Keiko (who I have a super … Continue reading →
La La La, this is a nearly incoherent post. Unlike esteemed Daheefanel and her gut-busting drunken posts (which are literally works of art), I don’t do drunk posts, even on days like this when I am totally wiped out mentally and physically. Food, what is that? Rest, where art thou? Sanity, come back here. But I am still able to … Continue reading →
If Lie to Me the drama was akin to a lie, promising something that didn’t exist (the normative good script and good execution requirements), then the process of watching LTM transformed the viewers into living the lie within the drama that turned out to house something unexpectedly real. Ki Joon and Ah Jung discovered that a lie allowed them to … Continue reading →
I think I’ve turned into a crybaby. I cried through the entire last two episodes of 49 Days (like, who didn’t?), and now I’ve cried through the entire episode of Lie to Me. Except this time it was all tears of happiness. Episode 16 was all about connection – the connection of the viewer to the central love story, and … Continue reading →
Huge. Giant. Insanely. Awesome. And. Gorgeous. Spoilers. For. Episode. 16. Of. Lie. To. Me. The. End. The top picture is the least spoilery, so enjoy the scenary. I’ve officially decided that HwanHye together is prettier than Jeju. The World Tourism Association needs to designate them as one of the top 7 wonders of the world. P.S. I told y’all to … Continue reading →
If Secret Garden went insanely overboard with “The Little Mermaid” allusions, then Lie to Me is piling on the “Cinderella” references. But I’ve come to realize that the new writer is aiming to allude to Cinderella and then tell us that Ah Jung would never agree to that proposition. While one of the biggest problems with the writing of Lie … Continue reading →
I’ve mentioned before that the experience of watching Lie to Me is just like Mary Stayed out All Night, and that the drama’s writing trainwreck literally takes the exact same trajectory (including writer switch at episode 11). After watching episode 15 of LTM, I have zero doubts LTM is M3’s adult sibling. Ah Jung just pulled a Mu Gyul at … Continue reading →
MBC has been like the Emperor, keeping the full trailer and official OST song of Heartstrings under wraps. It’s neigh impossible to find, other than for shaky fan cam quality vids floating around that don’t capture the magic that this drama looks to bring. I’ve found a HQ video for you guys. It’s got no dialogue, hence it doesn’t need … Continue reading →
[Edit: added new picture from Jeju] [Koala’s current mood: shy anticipation.] Tears, they be coming from my eyes. Everybody – I’m here for the next 72 hours as we sail our Lie to Me ship to its sure to be magnificent conclusion. HUGE spoilers for the ending coming up after the jump. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. *does happy … Continue reading →
Jang Geun Seok has been very busy for the early half of 2011 despite not having a drama project since wrapping Mary Stayed Out Last Night. He’s released a solo album in Japan and is currently filming You’re My Pet with Kim Haneul. He’s featured in July’s edition of W Korea magazine (with Lee Min Jung) doing a very edgy … Continue reading →
I’ve been live-watching dramas for a few years now (wish it weren’t so, sometimes the pain of the wait outweigh the pleasure) and each experience is different. Strolling by DC Lie and Baidu LTM bar, I get this warm happy family vibe. Most dramas have some bits of contention, primarily from fans split between the first and second leads. Usually … Continue reading →
