When Playful Kiss ended, I presented my favorite MV from that drama – which was a funny, fast, and adorable tribute to the developing relationship between Ha Ni and Seung Jo. Now that Mary Stayed Out All Night is over, I’ve finally found the one MV worthy of the amazing pairing of Mae Ri and Mu Gyul. M3 was always … Continue reading →
I have been very lean on providing any Secret Garden updates during the holidays, whether its my thoughts or previews. The drama is doing gangbusters in ratings, and is quite a hot topic of discussion, whether about certain scenes or subject matter.
Continue reading →Now that all three year end drama awards are over, I want to weigh in only on the recipients of the Daesang(s) for each station. It’s the biggest acting award of the night, and as the awards shows get more bloated with newly added meaningless awards, the Daesang remains the one award that has some meaningful validation.

She actually channels a very warm personality in the dramas and movie performances of hers that I love, so it’s a nice cool breeze to see her chilly … Continue reading →
It’s the first week of 2011, and also premiere week in K-dramaland. A spate of new K-dramas are making their bow this week in various time slots, and I’ll likely check out the first episodes of the ones which interest me (in addition to catching up on some great currently airing dramas I’ve put on hold during the holidays). I’ve … Continue reading →
The Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) Roller Coaster has finally come to a complete stop, ladies and the occasional gentleman. This was one wild ride, and I feel mentally drained from the combination of the crazy on top of the mind-boggling.
Continue reading →MBC held its 2010 Drama Awards yesterday, and I can’t let the year end without a shout out to Dr. Baek Seung Jo and Nurse Oh Ha Ni. Our Playful Kiss newlyweds showed up at a rather tame and comparatively lackluster event (since MBC was the ratings laggard behind SBS and KBS all year).
Continue reading →KBS held its 2010 year end Drama Awards today, and our Mae Ri and Mu Gyul donned their finery to attend the banquet. Moon Geun Young and Jang Geun Seok are such a perfect gorgeous acting couple, I have a new theory for why Mary Stayed Out All Night (Marry Me, Mary!) sucked. Because the drama gods cannot allow such perfection … Continue reading →
Psst – I’ve got some spoilers ahead. It may or may not make you happy, but rather than rumors its definitive proof as to how the drama will likely end. You know you’ve got it bad when you’re on a bus, in the mountains, drifting snow outside, and you are desperately searching for a signal to get online. At least … Continue reading →
Mary Stayed Out All Night will end next week in a flurry of cheers or jeers, depending on whether the screen writer has taken her happy or crazy pills. Current mood in M3-land – cautious hope smothering an urge to go Hulk out on someone. Regardless of how M3 goes out, its successor Dream High is pretty much itching to … Continue reading →
[Edit: KBS took down the episode 15 preview and left the message “episode 15 preview is currently under construction.” God, how much more of a trainwreck is this turning into? I might need to revise my end of year reviews after next week. Koalas are notoriously unforgiving when it comes to drama plots potentially going to hell in a handbasket.] … Continue reading →
2010 heralded the dawn of a new decade. Where’d the last decade go? I could have sworn that I took a brief nap after college, only to wake up with an entire family and a boatload of new responsibilities. On a more drama-centric note, 2010 also marked my transition from a passive drama watcher into an active drama blogger. I wouldn’t be here but … Continue reading →
This weekend’s highly anticipated promotional tour in Taiwan for Playful Kiss is sadly a no-go. Kim Hyun Joong, who appears to be unable to stop working for even a day (poor baby), is suffering from exhaustion due to his work schedule and is in much need of rest. His co-star Jung So Min will not be going either, since without … Continue reading →
