I’m mentally tearing up already watching episode 19 of Vincenzo, knowing it’s the penultimate episode makes it even more bittersweet. It’s been my weekend companion for 10 weeks now and other than the rather shaky first two episodes this journey has been 100% satisfying. This episode hit all the beats I expected, it wasn’t surprising that the denizens helped with … Continue reading →
Oh please be good drama! I’m going to need a weekender with Vincenzo ending this week plus I’m still in a sageuk mood after River Where the Moon Rises. MBN Sat-Sun drama Bossam: Stealing Fate premieres this Saturday May 1st and earlier in the week leads Jung Il Woo, Yuri, and Shin Hyun Soo attended the press conference looking so … Continue reading →
One of these characters is not like the two others but what the hey, I do agree with the plea at the end. K-media this week shined a spotlight on three leading men of K-dramas Song Joong Ki, Lee Je Hoon, and Lee Seung Gi, each of whom is currently starring in a series. The article discussed how they are … Continue reading →
It’s been a fun week building up to the finale weekend of tvN Sat-Sun hit drama Vincenzo. The network released more BTS videos and in general I feel like I’m going to be saying goodbye to a group of family and friends. At the onset of the drama I complained about so many oddball denizens of Geumga Plaza but acknowledged … Continue reading →
The long (awaited?) saga of So I Married an Anti-fan has finally reached its conclusion. Three years after it was filmed, the Chinese-Korean jointly produced drama has premiered on streaming network iQiyi. Leads Sooyoung and Chansung were there but male lead Choi Tae Joon is still in the army, enlisting after he completed the drama, so the production went with … Continue reading →
2021 is a good year if we get to see all three Kim child actress turn young actress in the small screen in the same year. Kim Sae Ron has picked her next acting work and it will be in the Kakao TV series Shaman Girl Ga Doo Shim. Earlier this year we got Kim So Hyun in the sageuk … Continue reading →
The rise to fame happens really fast in K-ent if it’s in the right project that gets buzz. This year it’s cue Park Eun Seok in Penthouse and now Kwon Hwa Woon in the double duty guest starring roles in Mouse and River Where the Moon Rises. Kwon Hwa Woon played really interesting characters in both dramas and managed to … Continue reading →
Welp, if MBN sageuk Bossam: Stealing Fate ends up sucking due to a poor script or directing I’m going to be so mad because the visual compatibility of leads Jung Il Woo and Yuri of SNSD is through the roof. Whether looking fly in modern wear for this couple’s pictorial in Cosmopolitan Korea or outfitting in traditional sageuk garb in … Continue reading →
There seems to be a revolving door of South Korean actors and actresses going from big agencies to small ones and vice-versa. Maybe a grass is greener on the other side no matter which side you’re on. Rising actor Lee Jae Wook, who debuted in 2018 after being signed by VAST Entertainment which is Hyun Bin‘s agency, will not be … Continue reading →
There may be a COVID-19 spread going on in the musical and stage world in K-ent and I’m hopeful it’s quickly staunched with contact tracing. K-actor Shin Sung Rok has confirmed a positive test for COVID-19, after a day earlier testing negative. He was part of a group asked to test after being in recent contact with musical actor Son … Continue reading →
The Forbes 2021 ranking of Power Celebrity is out for South Korean entertainment and it includes not just actors and actresses but all celebrities including sports stars and MCs. This remains more a snapshot of who had popular/breakout/buzzyworthy projects in that year than the overall popularity and power status in the industry, though it is worth noting if star stays … Continue reading →
I’ve gotten a new angle on tvN drama Mouse and it’s all thanks to Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I didn’t watch it due to time constraints but Mr. Koala and Koala Teen Girl did (emo Koala Teen Boy is not into super heroes lol), and hearing snippets on the television and of course being a full Marvel fangirl I … Continue reading →
The K-actor 200 list feels really timely, it was likely spurred on by the worldwide success of Parasite last year and of course this year veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung added to the K-ent recognition with her Best Actress Oscar win. I believe this is now week six of the K-actor 200 list reveal and this one is super cute … Continue reading →
