I have to commend the casting director of Flower of Evil, to convince a male lead like Kim Ji Hoon to join the cast as the big bad was a stroke of genius because you need an actor that’s able to match Lee Jun Ki‘s intensity and charisma onscreen. Basically all our worries that Hyun Soo was a serial killer … Continue reading →
I feel the Song Joong Ki influence is so strong for his upcoming drama comeback with tvN series Vincenzo. So many of his costars have worked with him before and I’m sure when the drama airs I’ll spot even more. Song Joong Ki is the titular Vincenzo with female lead Jeon Yeo Bin and second male leads Taecyeon and Kwak … Continue reading →
Man, I can’t believe I’m going to have to say I like the first drama poster better because comparison and context does make a difference. Upcoming tvN drama Start-Up continues to putter along in promos, it’s like the production is goading me into bottom of the barrel expectations just so it can jump out and yell SURPRISE! when the drama … Continue reading →
Back in the days a K-star will wear a face mask when exiting the airport to keep the media at bay from recognizing them but now everyone is wearing masks and the media is getting even better at recognizing them lol. Practice makes perfect, and honestly a specimen of male lead perfection like Hyun Bin just exudes “I’m someone famous” … Continue reading →
The Search is coming soon and I’m stoked for this new direction for male lead Jang Dong Yoon. Sageuk The Tale of Nokdu showed that he can do both cute and manly AT THE SAME TIME (so wow) and now he’s taking on the role of a search squadron commander stationed int he DMZ facing a dangerous monster-ish enemy that … Continue reading →
Dang, I thought she retired or something but nope, guess she was just taking a break before staging a high profile comeback. Queen of super makjang K-dramas Im Sung Han will be returning to dramaland in early 2021 with a new format work. It will be a seasonal TV Chosun drama split into two 12-episode seasons, think US show style. … Continue reading →
I don’t know why but I totally get the Korean version of Twilight vibes from upcoming tvN drama Tale of Gumiho. From the posters to the styling of male lead Lee Dong Wook like a modern day vampire/gumiho hybrid, the drama production projects more style over substance (for now). The second poster is out and me no likey, I don’t … Continue reading →
The 2020 Seoul International Drama Awards will take place remotely this year due to travel limitations. It’s the 14th year for this ceremony and it awards both Korean dramas and shows around the world. Focusing on the Korean drama winners, two Koreans took home the prize in the overall show category. KBS is going back to the youth sageuk as the network has confirmed the casting of upcoming Secret Royal Inspector. L will headline the drama along with female lead Kwon Nara and supporting male leads Lee Yi Kyung and Lee Tae Hwan. L plays the titular secret royal inspector who is assigned to investigate and root out corruption within the … Continue reading →
HOMG how can they end this episode 13 of Flower of Evil on such a cliffhanger and then leave us waiting for another week! Grah, I now officially curse that COVID-19 production halt because this should have been a first episode before the next one help sooth some of my nerves. Yes yes, I know there is always a moment … Continue reading →
I almost confused Rainie Yang with Jolin Tsai in these new album promos because this totally looks like a Jolin themed concept. Rainie continues to focus on her singing career and she’s coming back this fall with a new album Bad Lady and the title single is influenced by Trap music and has her transforming into different bad ladies in … Continue reading →
There is more casting news out of K-ent this week, a swap-a-roo for a medical healing genre drama. Shin Mina is in talks to headline I’m a Nurse, And a Human Too. Well of course a nurse is also a human, but the title is from a novel by a nurse discussing the travails of providing medical care but ofttimes … Continue reading →
The one episode last week ended up being the adrenaline shot needed for tvN drama Flower of Evil to finally get the notice it deserves. Last week aired only episode 11 due to the production shut down to slow COVID-19 and this week’s first volley of the night was episode 12 which pulled no punches. We see real Hee Sung … Continue reading →
