I feel like Song Joong Ki will always be the center of public and media scrutiny for the rest of his career. It’s hard to overcome both a hyped beyond belief shot into super stardom with Descendants of the Sun and subsequent even more high profile marriage and divorce with A-lister Song Hye Kyo. 2019 was a spectacularly crappy year … Continue reading →
The last few episodes of Extraordinary You have been extraordinarily dull, slow moving on narrative and a lot of the same old same old interactions. It gives me time to focus on second male lead Lee Jae Wook purely from a clinical observation – he is really far and away the best actor in the entire ensemble and it shows … Continue reading →
I’m going on a limb and sharing a completely contradictory opinion – I think When the Camellia Blooms is a very cohesive and well-written and acted drama but it’s just not an engaging watch. I think a lot of South Korea disagrees because the final episode broke 23% ratings and honestly any prime time that drama breaks 10% nowadays is … Continue reading →
Savor this moment ladies, you’ll remember where you were when Kim Woo Bin made his shiny return to his entertainment career. I’ve been a huge fan for his entire career, this funky looking lunk has talent as tall as his frame and unfortunately had to take a prolonged hiatus due to a serious medical scare involving cancer. His break came … Continue reading →
I don’t think they look alike or even have the same acting styles but in the early days of their career I kept getting Lee Se Young and Chae Soo Bin confused. Probably because they were always playing the bitchy or mean second female lead around the same time period, but now both have gotten their female lead breaks and … Continue reading →
I totally forgot that K-drama land was prepping a drama remake of the hit movie Miss Granny which came out in 2015. Probably due to how long this is taking, nearly 4 years since the movie came out and 3 years since the remake was announced. Initial casting news was that Kim So Hyun had been tapped for the female … Continue reading →
Looks like Kim Jae Wook really enjoyed working in the cable network world because he’s in talks to comeback in 2020 with another cable drama. OCN is prepping Train and is courting Kim Jae Wook for the male lead, with the drama about parallel universes. Kim Jae Wook plays a police detective whose love is killed in his universe so … Continue reading →
I’m sorry that I can’t take idol turned actress Hyeri seriously yet, not when her wonderfully natural turn in Answer Me 1988 feels like a lucky shot because everything since she’s back to being bad. Her most recent drama the workplace Miss Lee ended last week and she’s giving the usual post-drama interviews where the topic went to my favorite … Continue reading →
Another year another star-studded charity gala to see what the latest batch of red carpet ball gowns are out there. The 2019 Bazaar Celebrity Charity Gala took place over the weekend with many familiar and famous faces in attendance. Actress Liu Shi Shi made her red carpet return after having a baby a few months ago and chose a straight … Continue reading →
This past weekend was the finale of tvN drama Melting Me Softly and it ended as stupidly as it began. It was just a bad K-drama all around, not one particular element stood out as being the deal breaker much like the screenplay for Vagabond is 100% to blame. Male lead Ji Chang Wook picked it as his comeback drama … Continue reading →
Well, it’s out of the military and into the police for Daesung, for questioning that is. Big Bang‘s newly discharged from military service member Daesung will be headed into the police station next week for questioning on the case of a building he owns being rented out to several brothels. The proprietors of those brothels have been booked and the … Continue reading →
When I hear the actress with the last name Park and the PD of Memories of Alhambra paired with the screenwriter of Doctors of course I’m thinking Park Shin Hye. But this is actually about movie actress Park So Dam who is riding a career high having starred in the award winning the box office winning Korean movie Parasite this … Continue reading →
On the heels of the solo stills of leads Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin released over the weekend, tvN drama Crash Landing on You dropped a third and most substantive to date teaser trailer with all four leads onscreen. Binnie remains the straight man North Korean officer doing training but then changing tones to a comedic meal with Son … Continue reading →
