Well this is an interesting casting news but I’ll have to see it inked to believe it will happen. K-ent is reporting that Park Bo Gum has been offered the male lead in upcoming K-movie Wonderland, which made news earlier this year with Suzy being cast as the female lead. Park Bo Gum and Suzy are awards ceremony staples together … Continue reading →
I totally think Song Hye Kyo earned a break, from her job and from the public limelight. K-ent is reporting that the actress will be staying in New York to study art for a period of time. I’m guessing a quarter or semester at most but it’s definitely not a full course load. She was in NYC recently attending fashion … Continue reading →
The summer blockbuster season is fully over with dramas, shows, and movies all headed into the slower fall with hopefully temperature dropping as well. K-actor Kim Jae Wook had a chill summer after spending the late winter into early fall filming rom-com drama Her Private Life. I’m still waiting to see if there will indeed be a movie version of … Continue reading →
A public Yoon Eun Hye sighting is no longer as frequent in recent years but she has resumed her K-ent acting career as of last year with two smaller dramas. She was out last week attending the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival promoting the music drama Gogo Song with her male lead Ji Il Joo. She sported a black … Continue reading →
The year long unceasing rumor that C-stars Huang Xiaoming (he of the leading man looks and crazy eyes acting) and Angelababy (she of the plastic surgery, porn star name, and major hard working drive) have hit a new peak last week with the Mid-Autumn Festival which is when families gather and entertainment shows generate special variety programs to capture the … Continue reading →
With Arthdal Chronicles finished, there’s only two sageuks left for 2019 and only one that is more similar in sweeping scope. jTBC has been nicely promoting My Country with stylish posters and character teasers, and through it all male lead Yang Se Jong always looks totally wrecked like a hero strung through a ringer. Second male lead Woo Do Hwan … Continue reading →
tvN chose to bisect the airing of fantasy sageuk Arthdal Chronicles into technically three parts but aired in two segments. Part 1 and 2 aired together as 12-episodes, then came Hotel Del Luna, and now Part 3 aired as a final 6-episode chunk. But the story itself was Season 1 and boy did it sure feel like it. I don’t … Continue reading →
I’ve been having a niggling sense of deja vu vibes from the promos and pairing of upcoming KBS drama The Tale of Nokdu and finally connected the dots when I saw the just released couple poster with leads Kim So Hyun and Jang Dong Yoon. This is Kim So Hyun’s turn to have her own sageuk youth romance in the … Continue reading →
Upcoming tvN Sat-Sun K-drama Melt Me Softly clearly took it’s inspiration from the US movie Passengers, but without the problematic choice (bad choice) element that doomed the male lead’s intentions. It’s like the leads Ji Chang Wook and Won Jin Ah are the only two frozen in time and are dealing with the same return to society shock, no wonder … Continue reading →
Those who take subways daily know there is an inherent risk of it being late, dirty, and perhaps a tiny sliver of danger. But that’s subways in wild NYC and I honestly can’t see the subway system of well-run South Korean infrastructure teeming with danger. But that’s the premise which grounds upcoming tvN drama Catch the Ghost with Moon Geun … Continue reading →
It’s finale weekend over on tvN as the big budgeted and highly promoted fantasy sageuk Arthdal Chronicles wraps up its ambitious tale with the final two episodes. The penultimate episode brought in 6.412% ratings, so part 3 of this drama in the end could not give it a much needed ratings boost beyond the 6% range it averaged during its … Continue reading →
OMG, please don’t make Im Joo Hwan into secretly the serial killer baddie in his next drama. Sorry I’m worried but this cutie pie keeps getting short shifted and honestly he’s better off being the nicest man in the world as he’s often been playing. Im Joo Hwan is currently in political family drama The Great Show but has lined … Continue reading →
It’s premiere week with some big name dramas I’ve been waiting for but due to work business and travel I’ve only been able to watch the new SBS Fri-Sat night drama Vagabond. Episode 1 aired this Friday and the network split it into three parts with commercials in between to maximize the ad revenue so the ratings were 6.3%, 8.0%, … Continue reading →
