A Koala's Playground Posted on by

2019 already has the highest profile Chinese speaking entertainment scandal with singer Andy Hui on wife Sammi Cheng with starlet Jacqueline Wong. That ended with tears, snot, regret, and a forgiving second change. In 2018 last year started off with the cheating scandal of C-actress Li Xiao Lu on husband Jia Nai Liang with rapper PG One. That one was … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The lunar new year day of 7-7, the seventh day of the seventh month, is of course Chinese Valentine’s Day so there will be plenty of romantic promotions out there. Married Chinese stars Yuan Hong and Zhang Xinyi have always been low key but for this 7-7 the two were photographed by Bazaar Jewelry showcasing their total husband-wife vibe. Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won in New Photo Spread Promoting Third and Final Season of Arthdal Chronicles

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I think the preliminary verdict is that tvN drama Arthdal Chronicles is a relative disappointment, vis-a-vis the largest budget in K-drama history and of 54 billion won even greater by far from the most recent biggest budget K-drama Mr. Sunshine with 40 billion won. Mr. Sunshine at least broke cable ratings records but Arthdal has been averaging 6% ratings through … Continue reading →

TW-actress Chen Qiao En Takes on Dating Show Meeting Mr. Right as She Turned 40

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The pressure to find Mr. Right escalates in Chinese culture when a woman turns 30 and it turns nuclear when she hits 40. It’s societal and probably personal too, hard to turn off years of hearing that we as women are going to be leftovers or not as fresh anymore if we are too picky and don’t settle down sooner … Continue reading →

Oh Yeon Seo and Ahn Jae Hyun Confirmed for Romance K-drama People With Flaws

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There’s a new K-drama lined up and frankly it better be awesomely written and directed to muster any interest from me. MBC has scheduled rom-com People With Flaws for this November 2019 and cast Ahn Jae Hyun and Oh Yeon Seo as the leads. He hasn’t had a hit as a standalone male lead and her last hit was years … Continue reading →

Jung Hae In and Kim Go Eun are Bright-eyed and Bushy-tailed for Romance in Cine21 Spread

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m not quite feeling the onscreen or on print chemistry of Jung Hae In and Kim Go Eun as they promote their upcoming movie Tune in for Love (Yoo Yeol’s Music Album). They kinda have sibling face and the same sweet low key vibe when they act so they at most seem like best platonic friends type, and I felt … Continue reading →

Yoon Shi Yoon, Jung In Sun, and Park Sung Hoon Confirmed for tvN Thriller Drama Psychopath Diary

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The lineup is set for upcoming tvN thriller drama Psychopath Diary, which sounds a lot scarier than the set up seems. Yoon Si Yoon, Jung In Sun, and Park Sung Hoon have signed up for the drama to play a cat-and-mouse game with a mistaken identity twist. Yoon Si Yoon is a mousy, pushover of a stock broker who tries … Continue reading →

Hayami Mokomichi Surprise Marries Same Age J-actress Hirayama Aya

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Another one of J-ent’s male leads got hitched and it’s Hayami Mokomichi‘s turn to surprise with a life long commitment. I feel like J-ent goes for the extremes, deny dating or hide to so well until it’s time to get married and them drop a bombshell on fans. Nothing wrong with that, ultimately fans can decide whether to continue to … Continue reading →

C-netizens Detective Work Suggest Yang Mi is Dating Younger Star Wei Da Xun

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

If K-ent is having a crazy idol dating week last week, this week C-ent takes the reins with perpetual tabloid target C-actress Yang Mi being front and center for maybe having a new boyfriend. It’s a big deal since she’s divorced from ex-husband HK-actor Hawick Lau and has a 5-year old daughter than the paps are constantly insinuating she’s basically … Continue reading →

Everyone Looks Beautifully Melancholy in Drama Posters for Love Alarm with Kim So Hyun

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I recently had to repaint my house and went to town on paint swatches at my local paint store. It’s insane how many colors and color families there are but a good reminder that what looks good takes coordination and pairing. The drama posters are out for Kim So Hyun‘s Netflix drama Love Alarm adapted from the same name webtoon … Continue reading →

Gong Hyo Jin Starts Filming KBS Drama When Camellia Blooms

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Filming has started for early fall KBS drama When Camellia Blooms and I’m super excited to see leading lady Gong Hyo Jin back on the small screen. With the major networks either ending Mon-Tues dramas or putting it on hiatus, it just means fewer dramas in general and also likely less opportunities to see actors and actresses as often as … Continue reading →

Hotel Del Luna Breakout Lee Do Hyun Offered Male Lead in PD Lee Eun Bok’s Next Drama Sweet Home

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I wouldn’t be surprised if PD Lee Eun Bok or his casting staff checked out currently airing tvN drama Hotel Del Luna and was compelled to reach out to Lee Do Hyun to snag him for an upcoming drama. The sageuk era cutie in Hotel won prickly Man Wol’s heart and also the audiences with his smirk and smooth flirting … Continue reading →

Park Shin Hye to Travel With and Narrate MBC Documentary Series Humanimal

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This sounds like such a cool and learning new experience for K-actress Park Shin Hye. She’s teaming up with MBC to narrate the upcoming documentary series titled Humanimal. No, it’s not some weird Sci-fi movie where a human/animal hybrid is produced, the documentary heads to the wilderness to film animals in their natural habitat and discusses how humans have impacted, … Continue reading →
