The production team of upcoming SBS drama Vagabond has definitely mastered the slow burn of the teaser. They release stills and trailers deliberately in tandem with holidays, keeping it nicely spaced apart yet consistently paced. The latest new drama still shows leads Lee Seung Gi and Suzy smiling during a pause in filming during the Morocco overseas shoot portion. She’s … Continue reading →
Talk of drama reunions are almost always about the leads in a romantic setting but occasionally the bromance reunion pops up in discussion. Charismatic and talented male leads Jung Kyung Ho and Park Sung Woong must have loved working together on last year’s Life on Mars K-drama remake of the UK show because they are confirmed for the upcoming tvN … Continue reading →
This isn’t really buzzy news even in the smaller world of K-ent star couples but since I wrote about their pretty surprising dating news last year it closes the loop now to write about their unsurprising breakup. K-acting stars Oh Yeon Seo and a few years younger Kim Bum have confirmed their breakup after 10 months of dating. They met … Continue reading →
I just want to pinch myself with this casting for upcoming spring tvN rom-com Her Private Life, it just keeps getting better and better. With confirmed leads Kim Jae Wook and Park Min Young, the usual love triangle will be filled out by charismatic actor Lee Kyu Hyung most recently making waves in Life and Prison Playbook. Joining the main … Continue reading →
I thought SBS Wed-Thurs drama An Empress’s Dignity would prove to the outlier of the recent years big three network’s prime time drama slump but alas after a surprising start it’s since fallen in ratings after the writing reportedly got crazier and the network decided to milk it by extending by four episodes. That means we won’t see the next Wed-Thurs … Continue reading →
K-actor Jang Ki Yong is clearly primed to be the next It Boy in drama land and I’m fine with that. He toiled in bit parts and supporting roles for four years before his breakout as one of the antagonists in tvN drama My Ahjusshi and followed that up with his first leading role in the low rated Come and … Continue reading →
It was a busy Monday in K-drama land with three new dramas arriving to shake up the viewing options. SBS premiered sageuk Haechi with Jung Il Woo and Go Ara, taking in 6.0% and 7.1% ratings. MBC dropped Item with Joo Ji Hoon, Jin Se Yeon, and Kim Kang Woo which got ratings of 4.0% and 4.9%. The holdover was … Continue reading →
K-actor Lee Jong Seok‘s last few dramas were all with leading ladies I really liked with Pinocchio, W: Two Worlds, and While You Were Sleeping, hence my doubled desire to watch those dramas. With his most recent tvN Sat-Sun drama Romance is a Bonus Book, I’m so meh with Lee Na Young that I tried to hype myself up to … Continue reading →
The list of TW-actresses from the popular idol drama days of the last decade and a half who are married and/or married with baby now significantly outnumber the still single ones. No wonder even the single actresses who are still in their thirties are getting so much pressure. I think love and marriage can’t be forced so congrats to those … Continue reading →
This is great casting news to start off the second weekend of February 2019, not super high profile but definitely welcome along the lines of rising stars getting elevated to leading roles. Ahn Hyo Seob has been confirmed for tvN fantasy drama Abyss opposite Park Bo Young, and for this baby-faced actress who has been acting in movies and dramas … Continue reading →
If all else fails with MBC Mon-Tues drama Item, at least the entire cast showed up at the press conference dressed to impress. I was legit bowled over by every single main cast member dressing for the occasion, with male lead Joo Ji Hoon even going above and beyond and bringing actual style to the proceedings. I LOVE his soft … Continue reading →
The conclusion of a drama is usually time for some post-mortem dissection and K-actor Park Bo Gum was all over the news print ink this week doing interviews about his role in the hit tvN Wed-Thurs night drama Encounter (Boyfriend). It averaged a high mid-8% ratings, putting among the network’s top 10 highest averaged dramas of all time. The viewer … Continue reading →
I think K-actress Han Ji Min is a more capable version of Shin Se Kyung to me, I don’t think they are consistently a good actress but when they hit on the right role it can be magical in how good they deliver onscreen. Shin Se Kyung is like a 2 out of 10 for me so far whereas Han … Continue reading →
