The recently started filming period C-drama A Dream Within a Dream went ahead and released the first teaser posters this week and it’s nothing to write home about. Your standard each character in a different color posing in costume prettily visuals with leads Li Yi Tong, Liu Yu Ning, Wang Yi Lun, and Zhu Xu Dan. Li Yi Tong has been looking super cute recently in period attire, here and also in her other period drama Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Sword and Beloved. Liu Yu Ning is channeling one half his rich powerful general character in The Prisoner of Beauty and the other half like a character from Mortal Kombat wandered over lost. Overall still piques my interest and hoping for a fun story.

As a Li Yi Tong fan, I’m more than glad Liu Yu Ning is her partner. He may not be your cup your tea but he’s quite talented. He can sing, decently act and he has a good sense of humor (his livestreams are hilarious and I’m not even a fan) What’s not to like?

He doesn’t fits xianxia beauty, so he should stay away from this type of C-dramas especifically. But it’s stupid to say that he should have PS in order to stop the barks of certain folks lol. His looks are not my cup of tea so I rarely watch him. I don’t like to torture myself lol.

Where has it been stated that ‘Shu Juan Yi Meng’ is an “idol drama” and that the ML, Nan Heng, is a pretty boy?
This 2nd Liu Yu Ning S+ drama collab with Linmon is just like ‘Yi Nian Guan Shan’ which is NOT an idol drama and Ning Yuan Zhou was NEVER meant to be a pretty boy.
Nan Heng is an antihero who is villainous, vicious and merciless. That’s the only description we have of him from the synopsis.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You are free to find LYN “ugly”, but do bear in mind that the world does not revolve around you and your “taste”, and even if it may be difficult for you to comprehend and accept, there exists people like me, who find LYN to be physically attractive.
If seeing LYN’s face bothers you so much, just don’t watch any of his dramas or just skip his parts. You’re not such a special snowflake to have people hold a gun to your head to shove LYN down your throat.

Serious works wouldnt’ want him though. People tell actors to move on from idol dramas but they don’t realise that its more competitive in other genres. In idol dramas you only need liuliang (which LYN has), even if you are average to ugly like him and has poor acting skills.

I seriously suggest those who call LYN ugly better go check their eyes. He is not the conventional handsome but he is definitely pleasant to the eyes. And he looks distinctive and different and can be easily recognized.

I don’t care for this guy but he’s not ugly, average in looks but overall pleasant, but some styling, makeup, and filtering do not complement his facial strengths.

I’m actually looking forward to checking this one out. Sometimes it’s nice to have a lighter low-stress costume drama to enjoy.
contrary to what others been saying, i’ll watch this for Liu Yuning! he looks fine in period drama, way better than some other ‘more good looking’ actors. some of these good looking actors tend to just stand there, looks good, and have zero charisma while supposedly playing a leader of thousands of armies.
never warmed up to LYT before, but will definitely try to watch this. she looks great.
