Eleven Top Actress Including Crystal Liu, Song Jia, and Dilraba Dilmurat Share Vogue China’s September 2025 20th Anniversary Cover — 20 Comments

  1. When I saw it on Yifei’s Instagram, I lost my mind lol. So many beautiful C-actresses

And it reminded me how much I miss Ma Sichun :’)

  2. Vogue China got unlucky with their timing on this. After Xin Zhilei won at Venice, all chatter around this Sep issue is when XZL will get her solo cover, and that she should’ve gotten C-位 / center spot instead of Liu Yifei, whose center spot was purchased by her Bvlgari sponsors.

  3. The last pic: the woman on top left, her dress makes it seem like she has a pot belly and the breast area looks edited oddly. Wonder if it would look better with a different pose cause that dress does not seem flattering.

    • Yang Zi is on Tibet right now filming a drama and won’t leave there unless she is done. This is mostly because of her health as Tibet is a place with extreme conditions and high altitude and it won’t be good for her health wise to move constantly as she already left once for magnolia awards.
All her commercials are shot there and every other thing too

    • Oh yes, Ni Ni and Xin Zhilei remind me of high fashion models and they look so good in the same frame. Have they starred in a film together? Would love to see them act side by side 😊

  4. It’s actually really difficult for Chinese actresses to appear on Vogue China’s cover solo. You really need some accolades to back you up or be a top S lister (think of Zhang Ziyi, Shuqi, Zhou Xun, Maggie Cheung, Michelle Yeoh, Gong Li etc.) or just be a household name like Liu Yifei or China’s top female director in box office like Jia Ling. Can you even imagine that Zhou Dongyu is actually the only actress from the 90 age range who has ever appeared on a solo cover of Vogue China (multiple times tho). But of course she has three Golden film (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) awards to back her up, being only the third Chinese actress to do so.

Anyway, only very few Chinese actresses have ever appeared on the solo cover of Vogue China. All the A-listers or “fashion favorites” that you have on the top of your mind such as Yang Mi, Ni-ni, Zhao Liying, Dilraba, Yangzi, Liu Shishi, Tangyan, Song Jia have actually never been on the solo cover of Vogue China. For most of them, this anniversary edition might be the first time ever to appear on Vogue China’s cover, even if it means co-sharing it with 10 other actresses and standing on the side.

So congrats to Xin Zhilei for getting on the solo cover of the October edition, although it is 100% due to her win at Venice Film Festival.. congrats to that too.

(Not sure why they set the bar so incredibly high for Chinese actresses tho, I mean if you look at the Vogue editions of the other Chinese language region… and also, they let Wang Yibo have his own solo cover for godsake lol).
