There’s double the star power and excitement at the press conference for weekend tvN fantasy romance drama Memories of Alhambra, with leads Hyun Bin and Park Shin Hye looking as good together in person as they have in the previews so far. Binnie is a little too stuffily dressed what with the thick suit and turtleneck but it’s winter in … Continue reading →
This looks is so far out that I can’t believe a guy in real life is willingly doing it, and none other than top Hallyu star Song Joong Ki no less. With a floofy perm that is exactly a carbon copy of Darren Chen (Guan Hong) from playing the Hua Ze Lei (Rui) character in Meteor Garden 2018, Song Joong … Continue reading →
The successive jumping off the side of the ship definitely feels like it’s sinking and it may be for the best. Massive thriller action K-dramas like IRIS and Athena are not easy to pull off and upcoming Prometheus seemed to have bit off more than it can chew. It was a political action conspiracy thriller spanning multiple overseas location shoots … Continue reading →
I’m going to give all the credit to young actress Kim Yoo Jung for the success of just premiered jTBC rom-com Clean With Passion For Now. She’s so effervescent and a fantastic actress in conveying any emotion that she’s the sun of this drama radiating all the charisma and light. No diss to the two male leads Yoon Kyun Sang … Continue reading →
I feel like K-actor Seo Kang Joon is a workaholic and it’s actually working out for his career as he uses the multitude of projects to keep improving his acting. 2018 was a great year for him with two well-received drama performances first in the KBS drama Are You Human Too where he played both the human and robot characters … Continue reading →
Weekend K-drama melos are like Thanksgiving dinner, it’s so rich and excessive that I only ever crave it once a year, at most. This year I’m finding myself curious about upcoming SBS weekender Fate and Furies starring Lee Min Jung, Joo Sang Woo, Lee Ki Woo, and So Yi Hyun, a solid foursome with acting chops and diverse charisma. It’s … Continue reading →
If ever a K-drama should just cut it losses I would suggest upcoming intended to be pre-produced Four Sons just call it quits now. The latest filming problem may be its biggest to date with reports that male lead Park Hae Jin has simply stopped showing up on set and not filmed anything since early November. The drama made the … Continue reading →
The upcoming SBS drama My Strange Hero (Bok Soo is Back) looks light weight and that’s just fine by me. I’m forever traumatized when Yoo Seung Ho did Missing You that it will take an unending diet of him doing cute fluffy dramas to make up for that. His last I Am Not a Robot was a great appetizer and … Continue reading →
It’s a drama upswing for So Ji Sub in his roller coaster television career, he’s someone who is really hit-or-miss with his drama picks especially. In recent years successes like The Master’s Sun and Phantom, and now the just finished Terius Behind Me, are contrasted with total fails including Oh My Venus and Road No. 1. I find when he … Continue reading →
I’m not going to say that second marriages are more likely to work than first ones but in the case of TW-actress Alyssa Chia it certainly feels like this is her true happily ever after after a really rough first go-around. She held an official wedding ceremony this weekend with actor husband Xiu Jie Kai, the two having registered their … Continue reading →
There’s a phenomenon of Instagram husbands and boyfriends whose sole job appears to be taking pictures of their lady for her account. I see it often at tourist or trendy spots and I guess being a famous actor doesn’t exempt Feng Shao Feng from becoming the picture taking mule for wifey Zhao Li Ying. This is the actress’s first update … Continue reading →
I thought I was in the mood for a dark twisty melodrama like Hundred Million Stars Falling From the Sky (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes)and for the first few episodes I was indeed hooked on the ride. But it gradually screeched to a halt as I never connected with the two leads emotionally despite loving the chemistry of Seo In … Continue reading →
There are pretty pictorials and there are jaw-dropping insanely beautiful I want to soak it in level magazine spreads and the Bazaar China pairing with C-actress Ni Ni is the rare latter. Ni Ni is already one of C-ents acknowledged visual goddesses on top of being a very good actress, by all accounts she stole the summer 2018 period drama … Continue reading →
