The good news for Yoon Eun Hye fans is the opportunity to see her on the big screen right now in South Korean theaters with the movie Chronicles of a Blood Merchant. She’s even getting good reviews for her acting and saturi despite the very small cameo role. Bad news is the highly touted movie starring A-listers Ha Ji Won … Continue reading →
The currently airing C-drama My Sunshine is beyond addicting. It’s like tasty empty calorie fluffy drama popcorn. Adapted from the popular C-novel Silent Separation (He Yi Sheng Xiao Mo ä½ä»„ē¬ē®«é»), the C-drama stars suitably castĀ Wallace Chung and Tang Yan but what keeps me addicted are the two youngsters and the college era sweet romance. That, and Wallace occasionally cracking a … Continue reading →
The upcoming gangster noir period film Gangnam 1970 has basically turned into the Lee Min Ho show even if the movie has him co-headlining along with Kim Rae Won. If I were Kim Rae Won I wouldn’t let this bother much – he currently has the number one drama on the Mon-Tues time slot with Punch and has been garnering … Continue reading →
All hail the power of dad! In just one month the South Korean box office has produced one of the biggest domestic box office hits withĀ Ode to My Father, coming so soon afterĀ last year’s runaway victor The Admiral: Roaring Currents. The movie has raked in over $80 million US dollars in South Korea and topping the box office in each … Continue reading →
I like to keep a casual eye on all my fave actors and actresses even if I don’t keep tabs on on their every move. Checking back in with Yoon Eun Hye after the new year saw updates from her filming the Korean-Chinese joint production movie After Love in Beijing with costar Park Shi Hoo. The two leads were filming … Continue reading →
Normally a K-movie premiere only gets my attention for the fashion parade of top stars attending to support their buddies in the cast. For once my attention is completely on male lead Lee Min Ho at the bustling premiere for his soon-to-be-released noir movie Gangnam 1970 costarring Kim Rae Won. I haven’t seen this level of top star fandom interaction … Continue reading →
Those in Korea the mood for a cheery energetic rom-com will have a choice in Love Forecast (Today’s Love) premiering next week on January 15th. It’ll be a nice way to warm up the cold weather for couples heading to the theater, I’m already getting cute and sweet vibes from the previews and posters. Leads Lee Seung Gi and Moon … Continue reading →
There will be no shortage of Chinese-Korean joint productions going forward with plenty already in the pipeline and could be released as soon as early 2015. I approach each with caution but some definitely look more promising than others. Such is the upcoming Honey Enemy (ę ęµčę Love Rival’s Honeymoon) starring Kwon Sang Woo, Zhang Yu Qi, Wallace Huo, and Shi … Continue reading →
While it’s wait and see for what the first batch of K-dramas hold come January 2015, the same goes for K-movies and one of the first to arrive feels a bit random for the winter season. Love Forecast (Korean title Today’s Love) starring Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won drops January 15th which is too late for the Christmas … Continue reading →
Gomen ne if anyone arrived at the playground and had a momentary freak out to see the scary exposed muscle giant monster head above in the poster. That’s a Titan, and not just any Titan as we’re getting the first look at the live-action Colossus Titan. I’m so excited and scared it’s not even funny. The anticipationĀ keeps building in Japan, … Continue reading →
I’m usually a few months behind on following up with Asian movies that I’m anticipating. I’m too lazy to schlep to the theaters that play foreign films and a few months wait is never too taxing when there are other dramas and movies to watch. This past summer saw the second and third Rurouni Kenshin movies premiere in Japan, titled … Continue reading →
I love me a good OTP reunion but it’s even better if the set up is completely changed up. The reunion is already putting the same two people together, why repeat the exact same thing even if I loved it the first time around. The pairing of Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won isn’t exactly the typical OTP reunion … Continue reading →
Oh boy is this uncomfortable to look at. PerhapsĀ the jarring reaction is mostly due to unexpectedly seeing the first movie still from the upcoming Korean-Chinese romance movie After Love starring Park Shi Hoo and Yoon Eun Hye. I was hoping to ease myself into this movie, try to test out the waters to see if I can get over my … Continue reading →
