The news cycle here is suss but it’s also nothing anyone (sane) would care about so I’m all good with it. K-actor Lee Seung Gi is having a great year in 2021, with the acting accolades and challenge that was tvN drama Mouse and also bagging his first Baeksang Award in the Variety Star category. He’s also the lead off … Continue reading →
It’s getting closer to Song Hye Kyo‘s return to the small screen with her romance drama Now, We are Breaking Up, which I figure will definitely have a breakup but probably also a get together. She’s been filming the drama for the last month and this weekend she shared a personal picture of herself on Instagram cuddling her adorable dog. … Continue reading →
Another scandalous saga has come to an end and good news for the only victims in this case, the two innocent kids. C-stars Zhang Heng and Zheng Shuang secretly got married in the US and then secretly hired two separate surrogates to carry their babies. Then things fell apart between them and the two are in divorce proceedings with the … Continue reading →
There is a Chinese saying that if you knew it was going to come to this then why do what do you then (早知今日何必当初). Sure many times people will say they didn’t know it would end up this way but that’s rarely true, disputes have only a finite resolution options and thoughtful consideration can parse the most likely outcome. I … Continue reading →
Thanks to the expertise of K-netizens we have another fun “pick your fave” topic – height differential. K-drama casting probably doesn’t take it into account but as viewers it’s definitely something that adds or detracts from the watch experience. I don’t mind same height leads if they have great body language chemistry and sometimes a super big height difference crosses … Continue reading →
The potential rubbernecking and torrent of criticism has now been avoided by what is the most practical decision that could be made. K-actress Seo Ye Ji will not attend in person this week’s Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony, which will be held with socially distanced attendees like last year. She won the public voting for Popularity Award Actress side, with Kim … Continue reading →
Daaaang, what I would give to be a fly on the wall there? Or maybe a fly flying around since I don’t see any nearby walls close enough to eavesdrop. Top actresses Song Yoon Ah and Son Ye Jin are between projects and recently spent some quality girl time together as evidenced by two pictures shared on Son Ye Jin … Continue reading →
I’m don’t know who was right and wrong in the Ahn Jae Hyun and Gu Hye Sun marital dissolution mudslinging accusations, but to have this saga continue after the divorce was granted nearly 2 years ago and the timing with Ahn Jae Hyun returning to New Journey to the West feels sus to me. Gu Hye Sun has hired a … Continue reading →
The lowkey Taiwanese way of stars just getting married continues and this week it’s TW-actor cutie Lego Lee. He announced on his SNS that he’s married, and it’s such a sweet message. He’s tied the knot with his girlfriend of 16 years, a non-celebrity who is a dancer. They met in college and dated throughout his entire acting career, which … Continue reading →
I’m not going to say that disgraced C-actress Zheng Shuang is like totally and forever screwed from a comeback at this point but the final straw may be pissing off the Chinese government. Earlier this year she was revealed to have cavalierly wanted to get her two surrogate babies aborted in the late term after she and now ex-husband actor … Continue reading →
The K-actor 200 list feels really timely, it was likely spurred on by the worldwide success of Parasite last year and of course this year veteran actress Youn Yuh Jung added to the K-ent recognition with her Best Actress Oscar win. I believe this is now week six of the K-actor 200 list reveal and this one is super cute … Continue reading →
The full spring mood hasn’t arrived for me yet, the weather waffles between still cold late winter and muggy early summer from day to day. I want true spring, the soft light touch that says life is coming back to a gentle breezy state. Lee Min Ho really brings that in his latest CF pictorial for clothing brand AndZ. The … Continue reading →
Weddings have been cancelled or postponed for over a year in many countries since the pandemic started it’s actually nice to see one happen with a semblance of normalcy. K-actor Ryu Deok Hwan got married in Seoul over the weekend, to his non-celebrity fiancee of over 8 years. He’s been in so many movies and dramas with a wide swatch … Continue reading →
