A major breakthrough happens in chapter 28 of Lost You Forever and it’s not on the romance front. Zhuan Xu’s quest for the Xuan Yuan throne reaches a pretty startling decisive point and how it goes down is completely unexpected for everyone involved other than the still wily as a fox Yellow Emperor. One wonders if the formerly ambitious and … Continue reading →
It’s almost time for a new episode of Dr. Stranger and the big question at the end of episode 6 was whether Park Hoon recognized Seung Hee as Jae Hee through their shared heartbeat. It was ludicrous the first time around when he pointed that out to Jae Hee, it’s even more absurd if he can actually confirm Seung Hee … Continue reading →
Jung So Min keeps looking better and better in Big Man, and it’s not just the visuals as her character continues to develop in a direction that’s juicy and full of potential. I’ve not been posing previews and goodies of Big Man despite watching it regularly since it’s narrative hasn’t yet hooked me fully. I think the switch might be … Continue reading →
Talented young actress Shim Eun Kyung is hitting home runs at the box office with movies like Miss Granny and Sunny so it’s no surprise that she hasn’t done a K-drama since Bad Guy in 2010 on KBS. The network tried valiantly to lure her back for its Fall K-drama remake of the J-dorama Nodame Cantabile but ultimately it’s a … Continue reading →
I think C-writer Tong Hua has found a second calling as a drama script producer. She doesn’t write the script itself but her name and oversight position appears to lend some weight to any C-drama the way it did with the just aired Perfect Couple with Tang Yan and Wallace Huo. The production company behind Perfect Couple has hired Tong … Continue reading →
It’s probably just coincidental timing that Hana Yori Dango is back in the news these days what with the Japanese tabloids gossiping about the J-dorama leads Matsumoto Jun and Inoue Mao maybe dating and even more maybe getting married. It’s as juicy as it gets and if confirmed they would join another HanaDan drama coupling to go from reel-to-real. The … Continue reading →
If that isn’t just one of the most lovely drama stills of a fully grown up picture of Liu Shi Shi in her comfort zone of the period drama. I’ve watched her seen since she was a teenager in her early dramas like Legend of the Condor Heroes 2006 and Young Yang’s Clan and she’s always looked the part of … Continue reading →
Looks like this Summer will bring back some sageuks to K-dramas after taking a short breather from the genre. There’s Joseon Gunman on KBS, Records of a Night Watchman on MBC, and now tvN is joining in as it preps Three Musketeers for August. What got me intrigued by Three Musketeers is the behind-the-scenes talent with the scriptwriter who did Queen … Continue reading →
I’ll admit to being disappointed initially with Lee Jong Seok‘s headlining of Dr. Stranger, especially followed by Park Hae Jin signing on as the second male lead. My like for these two actors are reversed from the importance of their roles in DS so I would have preferred more Park Hae Jin over Lee Jong Seok. Six-episodes into DS and … Continue reading →
I am so in love already with the upcoming SETTV Friday night drama that is taking over the In a Good Way time slot that I’ll forgive it for changing its name yet again. The drama formerly known as Love Meets Cupid (爱情遇见邱比特) changed its Chinese title to Like One Person/Like to be Alone(喜欢·一个人) and appeared to settle on the … Continue reading →
Whatever You’re All Surrounded was waiting for before unleashing its potential to be solidly good, the trigger must’ve hit because episode 6 was the first time everything clicked for me. Again I can’t say it’s marvelous well-written stuff that everyone can’t miss out on, but for fans of Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won at least it’s no longer … Continue reading →
I hope the Dr. Stranger watching experience does not devolve into the fervor of last year’s epic and messy Answer Me 1994 shipper fan wars. That was over which of the two male lead characters ought to get the girl, and perhaps it’s refreshing to see DS with the opposite problem of which of the two female lead characters viewers ship with … Continue reading →
I can’t be the only C-drama viewer out there blindsided this week by the unexpected and sudden premiere of Incisive Great Teacher. This was the period comedy drama starring Liu Shi Shi and Nicky Wu filmed after they reunited on the turd Bu Bu Jing Qing, but since BBJQ just aired it’s weird to see Incisive Great Teacher following on … Continue reading →
