I feel like this could be the type of hit that Blossoms in Adversity became, a strong female lead centric drama about conquering a craft and business. Brocade Odyssey with Tan Song Yun and Zheng Ye Cheng released a production wrap trailer and is reportedly on deck to air soon, if not November then December. I really loved the first … Continue reading →
Of the three higher profile C-dramas that premiered in October, the least buzzy and watched has been wuxia drama Snowy Night: Timeless Love with Li Qin and Zeng Shun Xi. I enjoyed gazing at the snowy artistic stills but have no interest to watch a drama with these two leads unless it gets rave reviews. And it didn’t, the reception … Continue reading →
I’ve been hearing that director Guo Jing Ming and his next stylish drama Fangs of Fortune was airing sometime in October but it was nearing the end and still no set date. But here it comes as an air drop as the drama is premiering today on iQiyi. Starring Hou Ming Hao, Chen Du Ling, Tian Jia Rui, and Cheng … Continue reading →
This will be one of the big C-dramas of 2025, a top billed male lead wuxia swashbuckler titled Fu Shan Hai (Go to the Mountains and Seas). The drama stars Cheng Yi and Gulinazha adapted from a popular novel and seems to be the wuxia version of xianxia story Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus in the protagonist goes into … Continue reading →
This is certainly an unexpected way to promote an upcoming drama. High school romance drama Social Savvy Class 101 premiering in November got extra publicity this week with news that the leads are actually dating in real life. Costars Kim Woo Seok and Kang Na Eon were rumored to be dating and in a rare case their respective agencies actually … Continue reading →
It feels like a blast from the past when I have to write a post about K-dramas in the same week with the same theme. It appears next year 2025 is going to be about period era soul-swapping, what with the sageuk The Moon Flows Over the River getting cast and now this new sageuk drama Dear Bandit. The drama … Continue reading →
So this is an unexpected pairing and also a weird story to keep re-doing. Netflix is planning a 2025 sageuk drama titled Scandal based on the 2003 explicit rated K-movie Untold Scandal, which is loosely based on the novel Dangerous Liaisons. In talks for the leads are Son Ye Jin and Ji Chang Wook so quite a mature and big … Continue reading →
Well this is certainly an unexpected and self-created slightly negative news for C-actress Zhao Lu Si. This week she was on a program and when asked if she was planning to take a short vacation 微度假 (wei du jia) she responded 微度一下吧! (wei du yi xia ba). Her answer was mocking influencer, Ye Ke who is currently top of the … Continue reading →
There is casting for a new period C-drama that makes me excited after watching the two rumored leads in their respective dramas. The drama is title Yu Ting Yao 御廷谣 which roughly translates to Ballad of the Palace and is adapted from the C-novel Jiang Shan Wei Ping 江山为聘. The two stars the production has current offers out is to … Continue reading →
Oh lawd it’s a-coming! I am so hyped up for The Story of Pearl Girl, for leads Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning, for their reunion, and for the fact that this is her one drama on deck that I actually want to watch for story and her male lead. The premiere is still reportedly November 1st and what … Continue reading →
Oh pass me the popcorn lol! Of course this was going to happen when director Guo Jing Ming prepped his C-drama version of Painted Skin and it was revealed that Ju Jing Yi and Chen Du Ling would be playing dual (or co-) female leads. You just know one or both was going to pitch a fit and be top … Continue reading →
The amount of time Deng Wei has not been on set (i.e. filming) is long enough for Zhang Ling He to do three dramas lol. That man rolls from set to set and good for him, as long as he doesn’t risk overexposure by doing different genres and roles then he’s always on the front line having projects airing to … Continue reading →
Well this is a blast from the past! A good one at that, and I hope she’s back on a more consistent cadence now. K-actress Moon Geun Young made her first public appearance in years as she returns to the small screen this month with the Netflix drama Hellbound 2 in a supporting role. She plays a charismatic and obsessed … Continue reading →
