Yes, I must be micheoseo to re-watch any part of the last episode again. I confess that by the end of episode 16 of Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice), I was literally holding onto my sanity by a thin thread. I finished my recap watching the episode once and put it away. Today I went back and re-watched the last … Continue reading →
The departure of Eun Sang at the end of episode 16 of Heirs/The Inheritors was nicely done. It happened off screen so that Tan was blindsided, and even the audience who figured it was going to happen with the Chairman’s ultimatum as well as Eun Sang’s farewell tour it still felt like a punch in the gut. Which makes episodes … Continue reading →
I must say December is shaping up nicely with a slew of promising new K-dramas on the horizon. One or all of them could end up a disappointment, but at least I can enjoy the good promotional materials while the anticipation lasts before the arrival of the real deal. You From Another Star doesn’t premiere until December 18th but I … Continue reading →
I don’t think in drama bucket list of things I want to see today, Lee Seon Kyun playing a high school student would be so far away from even remotely making the list. The Voice, who is a smexy 38 years old this year, nevertheless has the comedic chops to pull off a very very old student look if it’s … Continue reading →
December is here and so is the march towards wrapping up Heirs/The Inheritors. This drama feels like it’s been dominating the K-drama headlines for the better part of the entire 2013 due to signing on leading man Lee Min Ho very very early on. By the time the rest of the cast was added was like building a Jenga tower … Continue reading →
How does one go about writing the recap for episode 16 of Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice)? One one hand, proper English grammar, syntax, and logical reasoning feel wasted when used on the 60-minutes that just transpired onscreen. On the other hand, writing a recap consisting of “buh?” and “whut?” and “WTF!?!?!” and “Bwahahahaha!” isn’t very easy to … Continue reading →
I haven’t watched a good Taiwan drama all year and I despaired of this sad reality ever changing any time soon. King Flower was addicting in a trainwreck way though ultimately the great chemistry between the non-canon OTP that ended up becoming the OTP was a wild and weird watching adventure I gladly relished while it lasted. But good acting … Continue reading →
I didn’t feature Jung Yong Hwa much during the run of Marry Him If You Dare, much like I didn’t feature Han Chae Ah much either though it was for different reasons. For Han Chae Ah, she was so underused and barely had any official stills released of her I couldn’t feature her if I wanted to. And I did … Continue reading →
Oh drama gods have mercy on me. Actually, may the drama deities have mercy on all of us. The final episode of Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) is airing in a few hours and I was content just to sit back and accept whatever crap is thrown at me knowing that I can rinse it off afterwards. It’s … Continue reading →
If we accept that Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) is a drama NOT about love, romance, the joy of dating, the sadness of logical romantic obstacles, and the satisfaction of a well-earned happy ending, then episode 15 might actually have some bittersweet poignancy all on its own. Unfortunately for those wanting actual romance from a drama that seemed … Continue reading →
There are two sources of strength getting me through this week’s dreaded Mon-Tues drama hump – the first is all those people counting on me to plow through the detritus of Marry Him If You Dare and provide a recap so they don’t have to watch it, and the second is the comfort that Prime Minister and I is just … Continue reading →
Will still three weeks left until its premiere, You From Another Star appeared to be in fine form since the drama had been well ahead of the curve on casting and filming. Leads Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun were secured early on, the filming has been quietly underway since October, and this K-drama was setting itself up nicely … Continue reading →
As if he wasn’t already a CF king in Taiwan and China, now that he’s the newly minted 2013 Golden Bell Best Actor winner, I’m expecting even more Vic Zhou goodness everywhere I go. I think between him, Ethan Ruan, and Bolin Chen, they’ve got the male Taiwan CF marketed cornered. Zai Zai made his first big public appearance after … Continue reading →
