If you love wuxia dramas and saw that picture above without any context, chances are you’d be screaming and running around like a headless chicken, much like I did for a good 2 minutes. Since I’m a Louis Cha wuxia fangirl, anytime his novels gets yet another drama adaptation I’m all over it like cat on cream. Even if the … Continue reading →
I now own a giant poster of Roy Qiu I don’t know what to do with (see above where the two tiny hands are holding it up for me). Mainly because I’m not 16 anymore, or whatever age it is that girls plaster posters of cute guys on the wall. I considered making out with it per the enabling friends … Continue reading →
Episode 10 of Nice Guy marks the midway point of this drama, and feels rather lightweight as a standalone episode in a drama full of tension-filled and taut moments. Nevertheless, this episode was critical in setting up multiple arcs that will surely be delved into in the second half, but overall I’m still left unsure of where it’s all headed. … Continue reading →
Man, just seeing the first official stills from Missing You gave me a good laugh. Don’t get me wrong, the stills are gorgeous, the two young leads Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun are gorgeous, and the entire mood of the two teenage lovers frolicking in the rain and looking all moony at each other is gorgeous. But can … Continue reading →
When watching the last scene of episode 9 of Nice Guy, I’m once again struck by Lee Kyung Hee‘s preparation for this drama. Details from previous scenes reemerge in new ways to move the story forward, and the PD knows just how much flashback and when to use it judiciously to heighten the mood without making us feel like morons. … Continue reading →
Oh wow. That was interesting. Not sure if I can go about making heads or tails of what episode 9 of Nice Guy did to the drama narrative as a whole, but it definitely took a great leap forward. Whether that leap is in the right direction only time can tell, but I wouldn’t write off what happened as crazy … Continue reading →
With the finalized casting of the leads for upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Missing You, everyone’s attention has swooped over to that juicy potential pairing of Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun, but before MY airs another drama will be joining that time slot battle starting tomorrow. With the end of SBS‘s low-rated To the Beautiful You, the channel is welcoming a big-budgeted … Continue reading →
Looking back at my original impression of Nice Guy, I was fascinated by Maru, intrigued by Jae Hee, and not sure quite what to make of Eun Gi. Flash forward eight episodes and my impressions of the three leads have completely changed. I’m beyond obsessed with Eun Gi, find Maru somewhat interesting but if he fell off a cliff I … Continue reading →
Oh holy freaking momma was this episode of Miss Rose amazing! Yes, the OTP still hasn’t talked directly about their feelings for each other, but dang it everything else is barreling full speed ahead with the start of a conversation-laden episode. This was Cheng Kuan’s episode to shine, and my Roy Qiu shined brighter than the moon by owning every … Continue reading →
It’s beginning to look like whatever wifey wants, wifey gets when it comes to the marriage of Oguri Shun and Yamada Yu. Despite J-rags gossiping about Yu setting curfew for her hubby and keeping an extra sharp eye when he was off filming Rich Man, Poor Woman with the always cute and flirty Ishihara Satomi, the marriage doesn’t seem to … Continue reading →
Okay, let’s do some math here, even though I suuuuuuck at math. Just so you know, the irony of being an Asian who can’t do math has haunted me my entire life. Arang and the Magistrate has aired 16 episodes and has 4 more left. Including this week, it’s wrapping up next week on October 18th. Its follow up drama … Continue reading →
Hold me, I’m scared. Monday started off with a bang when extended video previews for Nice Guy episodes 9 and 10 were leaked. Trust me when I say I watched it with my jaw open. Aside from the major character twist we’ve been told about since the plot synopsis was released months ago, with Eun Gi losing her memory, everything … Continue reading →
It’s really a flashing red neon sign that an entertainer is back in business after a hiatus when he or she starts showing up on red carpets and variety shows. It’s been nearly two years since Moon Geun Young wrapped Mary Stayed Out All Night, and she’s been a full-time student at Sungkyunkwan University during her time away from acting. … Continue reading →
