Some news outlets are reporting that the casting for the upcoming K-movie remake of the manga Kimi wa Petto (You’re My Pet) has been finalized. Kim Ha Neul has been cast in the lead opposite Jang Geun Seok, who as we all know has been attached to this movie for nearly a year now. Once Kim Ha Neul wraps her … Continue reading →
Jang Hyuk: Wassup! Like my new short-do? Cut it for Midas, but really it was starting to cost me an arm and a leg in hairspray money to maintain it. I think it looks much better for the sporty Eider image, don’t you think? PIE: I am happy to be back for Eider’s 2011 Spring/Summer collection with my hyung. And … Continue reading →
Dream High has turned out to be such a solid surprise hit. It’s got tons of news coverage (mainly for NOT sucking, and also for dethroning Athena and Queen of Reversals), and everyone seems to give a pass to the pretty mediocre acting from the idols, myself included. I still like it, but right now only Kim Soo Hyun is … Continue reading →
How many days until 49 Days? That was the only thought going through my mind when I saw the first ever BTS glimpse of the Stunning Sixsome (as I henceforth dub them) for the upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama 49 Days. I also let out this inhuman screech that surely must have shattered some windows in the building. I WANT THIS … Continue reading →
I didn’t expect my request for some feedback from folks who are watching My Princess to elicit so many responses in my recap for episode 12. Agree or disagree with my opinion, it shouldn’t influence anyone’s enjoyment of MP. But it does baffle me when I’m told I have a hatred of this drama and therefore should stop recapping it. … Continue reading →
Did anyone think I would let Valentine’s Day pass without a post about my darling Geun-Geuns? Not bloody likely. All I know is that someone scheduled back-to-back performances in Japan intercut with one day back in Korea to attend a Valentine’s Day party? In case anyone thinks I’m Captain of a loony brigade, let these pictures be proof positive … Continue reading →
This is totally random, but I may have discovered a new ship if SamMi stalls from here to emo-town in Dream High. Kim Soo Hyun and T-ara‘s Eunjung, who play Sam Dong and Baek Hee, respectively, in DH, just released an MV commercial for Spris footwear. It’s not earth shattering news or anything, but is cute enough I feel the … Continue reading →
My most anticipated drama of 2010 turned out to also be the biggest disappointment of the year for me. It wasn’t the worst drama of 2010, but it was definitely the biggest waste of talent all around. No, I’m not talking about Secret Garden, which by the way I loved from the outset and continued to have elements that entranced … Continue reading →
Okay, I might have spoken too soon when I decreed that Four Brothers of Peking was my most anticipated C-drama of 2011. It still is, but now it has to share the throne with Bu Bu Jing Xin (步步惊心), the upcoming time-travel political intrigue romance C-drama, which is currently entering the tail end of its production. Expect to see it … Continue reading →
Well, regardless of how the main love triangle plays out (I’m personally done making predictions and am happily chilling with the drama until the end, whichever way it goes), no one can deny that the second half of Dream High has become the “Song Sam Dong Emo Show.” Kim Soo Hyun is delivering big time as emo-Sam Dong, even if … Continue reading →
Binnie is off to serve his mandatory military service in a month. Until then, he’s got more work to do, the most important being the premiere of his indie movie Manchu (Late Autumn), co-starring Chinese actress Tang Wei. The movie was filmed in Seattle, and depicts a brief but likely impactful love affair between a man and a woman convict … Continue reading →
I know V-day hasn’t arrived yet, but happy things can be shared early, no? Last night I went to sleep with a mile-wide grin on my face. Why? Because I am finally re-watching Playful Kiss for the first time since it concluded (and since I wrote my final recap for episode 7 of the Youtube edition). In the intervening months, I’ve … Continue reading →
Dream High has not been as cracky for me this week, my raging addiction slowing down just as the drama took a turn for the moody. The two episodes this week seemingly revealed that MiGook is the end game by the ferris wheel kiss, and might be heralding that Sam Dong will be K since he got the K pendant … Continue reading →
