It’s time to put away his fists from The Veil (Burning Sun) and use his lips to win scuffles as Namgoong Min is joining the K-drama lawyer brigade for his next drama. It’s the SBS legal series Thousand Won Lawyer which is highly anticipated both for having award winning Namgoong Min as the lead and also that the script won … Continue reading →

It’s MBC‘s highest premiere rating for a Fri-Sat night drama bringing in 7.6% AGB nationwide. Of course a private wedding would have leaks hit the publications due to the happy couple being famous, and super duper famous at that so we see long lens and even drone shot pictures courtesy of tabloids. But I think Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin expected it otherwise why have it outdoors, plus their attending friends and family are … Continue reading →
The star falls in love with someone in his/her entourage has been done to death in K-dramas but when done right remains a compelling well to mine interesting situations and dynamics. One of the best was On Air, one of the underrated Kim Eun Sook dramas, and one of the OTPs was the top actress and agency president. It sounds … Continue reading →
Goals. That’s it. I can’t muster up too much more beyond these two are reel and real goals in visuals and life match. Today on March 31, 2022, top Korean stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin got married in a lavish private ceremony in Seoul surrounded by family and friends. They claimed to have fallen in love filming mega … Continue reading →
I can’t believe there is only two more episodes left of A Business Proposal! Next week is the finale already and the fantastic sharp pacing of this drama is because of it’s shorter 12-episode length but then it leaves fans like me sad to see it end so soon. Episode 10 was wonderful in every way – the car chase, … Continue reading →
Another round of multiple positives from K-ent in the never ending COVID-19 pandemic. This time it’s three drama leading men all confirming on the same day and with it multiple projects are halting filming. Junho tested positive as did Lee Jong Hyuk and Seo In Guk. The next evolution of K-actress Kim Hee Sun has been ongoing for the last decade and I feel like her next drama Tomorrow will combine various best elements. She’s fierce in Angry Mom, intellectual and single-minded in Alice, and together she’s all of the above as a grim reaper who likely became one through past life suffering. We’re seeing the … Continue reading →
The most “ripped from a drama script” celeb relationship news of 2022 so far has taken another formal step forward. TW-actress Barbie Hsu (Da S) and South Korean musician DJ Koo (Koo Jun Yup) registered their marriage in Taiwan this Monday morning, capping a wild three week news coverage of their rekindled romance. The couple announced their marriage three weeks … Continue reading →
Most sageuks are male-centric owing to the historical reality that men ruled and the politicking was about which man had more power. I do love when K-dramas attempt to tell a female sageuk story based on a real life historical figure but there are few and far between. But that doesn’t mean female characters and the actresses who play them … Continue reading →
The comedic wind has been slightly taken out of the sails for SBS Mon-Tues drama A Business Proposal now that both sets of romantic couples have fully coupled up. This Monday’s episode 9 rode the kissy and happy wave to a new ratings high of 11.6% but lost a bit of momentum for me personally. I still love it but … Continue reading →
