I personally did an eeny-meeny-miny-mo in deciding which of the two new weekend K-dramas to watch first, I didn’t want to watch both and compare as the two are competing with each other in ratings due to different time slot and also I wanted to just enjoy one drama and soak in the vibe for the time being. I landed … Continue reading →
Well if I was a betting person I would not put all my money on this horse, but I can see why the investors conceivably believe it could beat it to ground to see if pumping more money in can recoup some of the loses and maybe even end up a moneymaker. Production house Studio Dragon announced today that it … Continue reading →
Hopefully this closes the door with fines to be paid and time served. This week it was revealed that Jang Geun Seok‘s mother, who was investigated for tax evasion, tried and convicted last year in 2021, has lost her appeal of that conviction. It stemmed from the underreporting of income earned by Jang Geun Seok through his Japanese activities and … Continue reading →
The weekends are going to be smooth sailing for the next few weeks thanks to the successful arrival of two new romance dramas as the second week of airing appears to cement the domestic viewers interest in the stories. jTBC romance Forecasting Love and Weather was the lower of the two premiere ratings last week but has been increasing about … Continue reading →
One of the ancillary positives of Crash Landing on You for me was the validation and also outfit feast of seeing K-actress Son Ye Jin showcase her visuals. That she could pull off any outfit the drama put her in, including actual North Korea looks from hair to clothes plus accessories proved the adage that goddesses can wear potato sacks … Continue reading →
Man, K-actor Lee Ji Hoon seemed to have finally gotten his first big break. After the last few years in steady second male lead territory, with River Where the Moon Rises he really shined in his role sometimes even eclipsing the performance of either of the two male leads. He got his first male lead role thereafter in MBN drama … Continue reading →
Next week was supposed to be the premiere of new K-drama Kill Heel on tvN Wed-Thurs drama on February 23rd and the production actually held the press conference this week in anticipation. But alas the surge in COVID-19 cases in South Korea has hit this production team and the network has announced that it will postpone the premiere for 2 … Continue reading →
I can’t believe it’s been a full year since Shin Hye Sun was on the small screen, last February was when her hit fantasy sageuk Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) finished airing on tvN. Having such high ratings and buzz from her last work makes her highly courted in K-ent for projects looking for a strong female lead and someone who … Continue reading →
An entertainment reporter at YTN wrote an article today (click here) that went into depth to discuss the first two episodes of just premiered jTBC drama Thirty Nine. I noticed the same criticisms and concerns already voiced by K-netizens here and there but to have it expressed cohesively explains why K-ent doesn’t think Thirty Nine isn’t primed (for now) as … Continue reading →
The bar was set so low for the pairing of younger actor Song Kang and noona actress Park Min Young that the positive premiere ratings for jTBC drama Forecasting Love and Weather must’ve been a relief for the network and their fans. It is also good news for Netflix which has the streaming rights and the platform released a set … Continue reading →
A word of caution, don’t click on this post to see the pictures below if you don’t want to be spoiled on a really major plot point in the drama Thirty Nine. I don’t mind spoilers, I was the kid who sometimes read the end of novels after the first chapter and then the middle section in between when the … Continue reading →
It’s like a forever groundhog day for K-actress Park Min Young, but if she can deliver the product and ratings I don’t see why she can’t stick with her sweet spot. K-ent is reporting that Park Min Young has been offered the female lead in upcoming rom-com K-drama MonWedFriTuesThursSat, with the male lead currently in talks with Yoo Yeon Seok. … Continue reading →
I wonder if Han So Hee and Park Hyung Sik wanted a break from all that revenge fighting and zombie fighting, respectively from their last dramas, and signed up for this quiet and softly warm upcoming romance drama Soundtrack #1. They just look so relaxed and comfortable together, and impart that same vibe to the viewers from the posters and … Continue reading →
