The second episode of tvN Sat-Sun drama Vincenzo can best be described by Song Joong Ki saying “I’m back, bitches!” and me saying “Drama gods almighty I have no f*cking clue what I am watching!” This drama is like Dong Ryeong from Answer Me 1988 got together with Jung Hwan’s dad and they wrote a script complete with 1980’s HK … Continue reading →
I’m sure these two were paid a handsome sum to make this happen but it’s definitely worth it with the buzz generated. Korean acting stars Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin are not just A-listers solo but after confirming they are dating in real life after filming the drama Crash Landing on You have now vaulted into increased publicity and … Continue reading →
I have a pet peeve when a movie/tv show/book picks a name that is already associated with an iconic prior work. Upcoming SBS drama Deluxe Taxi really is going with Taxi Driver as its English title and I’m just shaking my head like really? Between Scorsese, Foster and De Niro there is so much tied to that name. Aside from … Continue reading →
The best way to describe Vincenzo is the lawyer cousin to The Fiery Priest. It’s either a dish your screwball tastes love or you will find it awkward and no clue on the purpose of what you’re watching is leading up to. The first episode was a serious of scenes to establish character/motive threaded by male lead Song Joong Ki … Continue reading →
I’m so sold on this in every single way lol. Netflix continues to flex not only its K-drama muscles but also the J-dorama fare, with Alice in Borderland being a huge hit and season 2 to commence filming shortly. The streaming giant has a slate of doramas it plans to produce and one of the most high profile will be … Continue reading →
Now I’m glad tvN took a three week breather on its Wed-Thurs time slot, after True Beauty ended two weeks ago since it was close to lunar new year celebrations the network moved the follow up drama Mouse to premiere on March 3rd. Otherwise I’d be knee deep in new dramas this week with one more to watch and digest … Continue reading →
I think this drama is either more or less than its ratings so I’ll focus on what’s good and lacking in the end product. Lost amongst the more high profile new K-dramas to premiere this week in mid-February 2021 is second chance what if story Hello, It’s Me. It’s the same concept as 18 Again, Knowing Wife, Go Back Couple, … Continue reading →
I have Kakao TV drama City Couple Way of Love all collected and ready to watch on a casual weekend. The first two episodes I watched didn’t really hook me but was also not bad so I just need to be in the mood for a marathon. That drama wrapped this Tuesday and next week will be the new drama … Continue reading →
This week new K-dramas are piling on like zombies spotting a live human but after we get out from under the backlog there are still more premieres to come in early March. One that I am super looking forward to is Joseon Exorcist with Kam Woo Sung and Jang Dong Yoon, which everyone agrees is just the next chapter of … Continue reading →
I, too, chuckled at the problems pointed out in episode 1 of Sisyphus: The Myth, from when Seo Hae kept crying to her dad, to her escaping from 20 armed agents by climbing on top of a train (suitcase in tow) and then sitting up there wind blowing of course, to the really stupid in every way plane crash to … Continue reading →
K-actress Song Hye Kyo is one of the top actress models I’ve seen in really delivering memorable and engaging fashion spreads. There is only so much “posing” and differences to present but she can go edgy weird or classic elegant and everything in between. That’s why this latest March 2021 Bazaar Korea pictorial for Fendi brand handbags and couture is … Continue reading →
This weekend is the premiere of Vincenzo, taking over the big weekend time slot on tvN from Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen). Starring Song Joong Ki, Jeon Yeo Bin, and Taecyeon, the story is about the male lead who grew up in Italy and become a mafia lawyer who returns to Korea for revenge and to enact his own brand of … Continue reading →
Premiere week continues in K-ent and this Wednesday saw the arrival of new cable network jTBC 10th anniversary Wed-Thurs time slot drama Sisyphus: The Myth. Like its ostentatious sounding title would presume, the drama is a large scale sci-fi action thriller with Jo Seung Woo as a genius engineer scientist and Park Shin Hye as maybe a survivor from an … Continue reading →
