I love serendipity and on the same week that K-drama premiered a new show that reminds of the best part of last year’s hit fantasy series Hotel Del Luna comes news that there will be a new life for the story. Call it reincarnation if you will, apropos of the theme of the drama, with Hotel Del Luna moving across … Continue reading →
Happy 33rd birthday, Lee Min Ho! His actual birthday day is June 22nd which makes him an early side of Cancer and one of the many many June birthdays in K-ent as it seems like such a popular month. I’m glad he got to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere with drama filming/airing both complete for The King: Eternal Monarch. His … Continue reading →
It’s hard to keep track of so many production teams and I didn’t fully connect the visuals of just premiered tvN drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay with the PD until I double checked and confirmed that it’s the same PD as Encounter (Boyfriend). I love love love Encounter and have written countless posts as the drama unfurled but … Continue reading →
Wow, this is like the most substantive news I’ve heard around Won Bin and any potential acting comeback project in 10 years. K-ent is reporting that Won Bin will not be making his return to the screen with the K-drama Immortal, a big budget 40 billion won affair that has all the hall marks of high profile even without his … Continue reading →
This may be the perfect time to debut a low budget (comparatively) K-zombie movie because there is a dearth of movies hitting the big screen and also a craving (har har) for normalcy including the summer blockbuster atmosphere. Zombie flick #Alive drops June 24th and it looks great, a small scale zombie thriller with leads Park Shin Hye and Yoo … Continue reading →
I’m sorry did a time warp happen or can we erase the last ten years and start afresh with K-actor Jang Geun Seok? He’s back from nearly two years of mandatory military service though he served in the public sector, kinda half and half with stars whether it’s a desk job or an performance gig in the army/navy/air force as … Continue reading →
If this is a cat and mouse game it’s not clear who is the cat and who is the mouse, and if the end game is love healing all or emotional devastation raining down. Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji drop so much chemistry and intensity in the second episode of It’s Okay to Not be Okay their scenes … Continue reading →
I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve loved Kim Soo Hyun for over a decade since his debut even as a teen actor but I never think of him as a heartthrob. He’s very good looking but it’s always his acting and sincerity that makes him so attractive to be onscreen, but I guess he’s heard the tradition loud … Continue reading →
I…..kinda enjoyed the first episode of SBS Fri-Sat drama Backstreet Rookie but that goodwill mostly dissipated in the second episode. Starring Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung, going in with zero expectations and just a love for the two leads, I only hoped that this drama wouldn’t suck. That’s a low bar and so far it doesn’t 100% suck … Continue reading →
Okay, I have no idea what I just watched but it’s all okay because it was so so soooooo good. The first episode of tvN mental health themed drama It’s Okay to Not be Okay (Psycho But It’s Okay) premiered this Saturday and the first episode was impressive and intriguing. Ratings for episode 1 was 6.093% AGB nationwide, and for … Continue reading →
Now that Im Soo Hyang has delivered a slew of big to small hit for the cable networks, she’s set her sights next on a prime time big three network slot with the upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs drama I Am the Prettiest. It’s weird, I’m not as allergic to her as much anymore, probably because she doesn’t overact the way Hwang … Continue reading →
The glorious and more importantly healthy return of K-actor Kim Woo Bin has arrived and goodness it’s a total breath of positivity in what has been a craptastic 2020 so far. It’s been three years since he took a leave of absence to deal with nasopharyngeal cancer and it took nearly two years for him to complete his treatment and be … Continue reading →
This year I haven’t found a C-drama to get me hooked yet so I haven’t been following the industry as closely, not to mention there are SO MANY new faces and names it’s near impossible to keep track. Can I have my early 2010-2015 babies back! I know then all lol. C-actress Zhao Li Ying came in at the later … Continue reading →
