Who here hasn’t picked instant gratification and then paid the price later on? We’re going to see that taken to the extreme in upcoming tvN drama When the Devil Calls Your Name as male lead Jung Kyung Ho makes a literal and figurative deal with the devil played by Park Sung Woong and then has to deal with paying the … Continue reading →
There weren’t that many stars out at last week’s opening red carpet of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival but it was enough to kick off the festivities. It’s the 23rd year of BiFan best known for sci-fi, monster, and other fantastical themed films which are all the rage still. The opening red carpet saw the arrival of Jung Woo … Continue reading →
I thought Ji Sung was playing a genius doctor in upcoming SBS Sat-Sun drama Doctor John but looks like he’ll also have a stint as a prisoner judging by this set of new drama stills. He looks good either way, serious and much too smexy. Joining him in Doctor John will be Lee Se Young trying to look older than … Continue reading →
The babies and the viewers are in for a treat this summer of 2019 as SBS is airing a new 16-episode variety show called Little Forest. It’s taking over the Mon-Tues time slot that was traditionally airing SBS dramas but this is not a permanent end to dramas for the network. After Little Forest SBS will return to airing dramas … Continue reading →
K-actor Choi Woo Shik started out as a drama supporting role and it’s pretty incredible how he’s now got a major movie career that is way more successful than what he’s done on the small screen. He picks films that are hits and if I were a bettor I’d piggyback on his choices – his first film role was in … Continue reading →
Seeing a star totally stripped of all artifice and accoutrements is a good reminder and underneath is just a person. And underneath a top star career spanning 15 years is now disgraced singer-actor Park Yoochun who has managed to go even lower than his sex scandal three years ago. Yoochun was released from police detention today after over two months … Continue reading →
We may think K-ent is going through dark days but honestly those who have followed along for over a decade remembers as dark if not darker times long ago. On June 30, 2010, K-actor Park Yong Ha succumbed to his depression and committed suicide at home. It’s been 9 years since and I still remember that news breaking like it … Continue reading →
Well this is bad for the two dozen or so actors and actresses under JYP Entertainment‘s acting label. The company has decided to close down it’s acting division and focus on the more profitable and prominent idol side. JYP currently produces popular groups TWICE, Got7, Stray Kids, Day6, 2PM, and Itzy, and is also best known for being idol-turned-actress Suzy‘s … Continue reading →
It’s the end of an era, and there seems to be a lot of that going on in recent years. Change happens too fast and it’s sometimes impossible to keep up. With TV viewership migrating to streaming and non-scripted show related other entertainment, the drop in traditional television ad revenue has been catastrophic and now the other shoe has dropped. … Continue reading →
Welcome to the Hotel Del Luna, you can check in but you can’t check out. Oh wait, you probably can’t check in since it’s for the supernatural beings only. The drama released the official poster to start off the week showing all the leads together in the lobby of their art deco and slightly run down hotel. See the cobwebs … Continue reading →
The divorce between top Korean stars Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo could be/become contentious but at least one third party will not be embroiled in it further. One of the various rumors bandied out for the reason behind the Song-Song couple divorce was that Song Hye Kyo hooked up with her Boyfriend (Encounter) costar Park Bo Gum, which … Continue reading →
K-actress Jeon Mi Sun was someone I took for granted, she was in so many movies and dramas and I always knew she would deliver an impeccable performance whatever the role but without the high profile recognition that goes to the leads. She passed much too early, leaving behind a director husband and their 11-year old son after being found … Continue reading →
Finally a happy news to break up the bad news week that was last week in K-ent. Top K-actor Kim Soo Hyun has been discharged from military service! His nearly two years felt much longer (to me) for some reason and on July 1st the quintessential boy-next-door completed his civic duty to the country and will be diving back to … Continue reading →
