I’ve heard that K-netizens think Astro‘s Cha Eun Woo is one of the most objectively handsome male faces in K-ent and now I believe it. The first solo stills are out for his role in upcoming MBC drama Rookie Historiam Goo Hae Ryung and I seriously jawdropped when I saw him as Prince Lee Rim. He looks almost too handsome … Continue reading →
It’s a rare miss for top TW-actress Shu Qi, or is it? I’m curious what my fellow fans here think, but the C-netizens are having none of what Shu Qi is wearing at this weekend’s 2019 Shanghai International Film Festival red carpets. She donned a pants suit with a far out leather and beaded 80’s style cropped members jacket, pleated … Continue reading →
The cheating scandal in Taiwan last week with singer-variety star Ah Xiang (Andy Chan) and variety hostess Cheryl Hsieh may be small potatoes to the greater Asian media but on the island it’s big news because of how ubiquitous the two are on the small screen hosting. After they were snapped kissing in the street, the latest development had Ah … Continue reading →
The Sat-Sun time slot was supposed to be owned by tvN this summer with Arthdal Chronicles but unfortunately the writing and directing is just weird and not engaging so the viewership at 6% averaging has been a disappointment for the massively budgeted production. OCN has always done darker far and now its upcoming Watcher has a good shot at carving … Continue reading →
It’s like deja vu to see Hyun Bin‘s new media pictorial because he looks exactly like he did in his last drama Memories of Alhambra. It’s like Jin Woo is alive and posing for pictures before telling the world how he survived being stuck in a video game. He sat down for an interview and shot two different look images, … Continue reading →
Upcoming Hotel Del Luna is looking better and better with each teaser and preview. Sure I said the same with the Hong Sisters last drama Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey) and it ended up being super fun for the first four episodes before flaming out. What still made it worth watching was how interesting the Sisters world creating was and I’m … Continue reading →
Now this looks wayyyyyyy better but sadly I’m mostly checked out now. Arthdal Chronicles released new drama stills for this weekend’s new episodes showing male lead Song Joong Ki looking like a warrior ninja ready to avenge his loved ones. For four episodes he’s looked like a harmless country bumpkin with that mop of round curly hair and now it’s … Continue reading →
I’m glad there is one entertainment industry scandal in South Korea that is getting swift resolution. Singer-actor Park Yoochun has admitted to all charges of drug use and in his court hearing this week teared up as finally it’s fine to face the reality. The prosecutor asked for one year and six month jail time and a 1.4 million won … Continue reading →
This is such a frustrating story to cover, I almost wish the threesome in question would reach a practical settlement and move forward. This week the South Korean court handling award winning director Hong Sang Soo‘s divorce petition rejected it, leaving him still married to his wife of nearly thirty years. Hong Sang Soo is for all intents and purposes … Continue reading →
There’s a huge corporate move in K-ent to end the week as YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk and his current CEO brother Yang Min Suk both announced they are stepping down at the company. Of course they remain major shareholders but neither will hold a management position and be involved with the operation of the entertainment powerhouse going forward. … Continue reading →
Maybe it’s because I’m pensive right now but good golly does Gong Yoo hit me like a perfect cup of morning coffee right when I need it. He’s been just coasting on CFs but has a wrapped movie in the works with Jung Yumi as Born in 1982 Kim Ji Young and also filming for sci-fi flick Seo Bok with … Continue reading →
There’s a new list of C-drama period pretties and honestly I’ve been out of the loop the last three years so there are a few fresh faces for me. C-netizens were recently polled on their opinion of the “most beautiful period looks” among C-actors and actresses. There’s a new goddess and her name is Ju Jingyi who made a splash … Continue reading →
Hhhhmmm, this is rather odd non-casting news. Earlier this week it was announced that K-actor Son Seok Gu was in talks to join the cast of upcoming Kim Eun Seok penned drama The King: Eternal Sovereign. He was up for what I call the protector type supporting male lead role, as a cop in one of the two parallel universes. I … Continue reading →
