I don’t follow K-pop but I do know that popular group Blackpink member Jennie is always wearing French couture house Chanel and getting either praise/criticism for me. Jennie is the cute sexy type but her overly label conscious Chanel looks scream hypebeast and I much prefer K-actress Kim Go Eun‘s frequent Chanel selections. Kim Go Eun was in Paris this … Continue reading →
I was excited to see K-actress Park Shin Hye cut her long locks into a really short bob last month, shedding her usual look for the last 7 years for both a fresh start as well as a callback to her Heartstrings look. A month in she’s rocking this look so hard it’s erased all vestiges of her lackluster character … Continue reading →
The drama title for upcoming OCN thriller Kill It may just refer to how visually slaying the two leads are on paper and onscreen. Jang Ki Yong and Nana may not yet have a definitive drama role under their belts but they are exuding confidence and charisma by spades in the promos and now this Marie Claire pictorial promoting the … Continue reading →
Both Lee Seon Kyun and Jung Ryeo Won have been a roll with their respective well-received dramas so it’s super awesome to hear they are working together on the next one. The two are in talks for jTBC legal drama Prosecutor Civil War, and despite the action title it’s actually a slice-of-life drama about the ordinary prosecutors handling the daily … Continue reading →
Consider me surprised and impressed that a poll conducted recently landed an actor currently in military service on the top of the list. South Korean government recently polled 16 overseas country viewers interested in Hallyu on their favorites in the categories of stars, idols, dramas, and movies. Lee Min Ho was the number 1 pick in the stars category followed … Continue reading →
I knew if I was patient I’d hear good news this year what with it going on 4 years that Moon Geun Young has been on the small screen. She’s in talks for the female lead of the tvN drama Catch the Ghost. Ghost is yuryeong in Korean and her character’s name also happens to be Yu Ryeong so there’s … Continue reading →
The baby showed up a few days early but I’m sure the parents are thrilled to make his acquaintance. C-actress Zhao Li Ying gave birth to a bouncing baby boy on February 26th, with her original due date in early March so not all that early. The actress is reportedly staying in a luxurious single room hospital suite for delivery … Continue reading →
It’s like bad news around Big Bang member Seungri comes in twos. First he was embroiled in a scandal involving a night club The Burning Sun where he was an investor accused of fostering an environment of sexual assault and later closed down. Not the bigger scandal and perhaps criminal investigation comes with a media investigation unearthing reportedly text messages … Continue reading →
Getting married a bit later for star couple Kim Tae Hee and Rain has now given them the push to speed up the family expansion. The pair married in January of 2017, welcomed their first baby a daughter at the end of that same year, and is now expecting their second child due in September of 2019. Kim Tae Hee … Continue reading →
I’m adding a new K-drama to my watch and you should too! The surprise hit that is SBS Fri-Sat offering The Fiery Priest is a great weekend commitment, and starts the year off right for SBS finally doing something fresh and fun. Starring Kim Nam Gil as a hot-tempered Catholic priest, Kim Sung Kyun as a cowardly-esque cop, and Honey … Continue reading →
After a few possible enlistment dates bandied about in the past year, it’s finally time to say auf wiedersehen to actor Lee Jong Seok who is confirmed to head to the military next week on March 8th. He’s leaving on a solid career note with the well-received tvN rom-com Romance is a Bonus Book, and having the chance to work with … Continue reading →
Cutie pie actress-idol Suzy kicked off the media week at Incheon airport leaving South Korea to fly to Paris for the Christian Dior spring/summer 2019 fashion show. It’s been a busy last week as the shows kicked off so she’s one of the later departures among the K-stars. She is the face of the youthful CD line in Korea and … Continue reading →
I always felt like the Chinese government was fully in charge of it’s entertainment industry. From deciding who got exposure to become famous to who wasn’t going to get promoted, the powers-that-be give and can also taketh away. And now they can also give again as rumors are spreading with a recently released upcoming movie release schedule that tax-evading but … Continue reading →
