K-actor Lee Jong Seok‘s last few dramas were all with leading ladies I really liked with Pinocchio, W: Two Worlds, and While You Were Sleeping, hence my doubled desire to watch those dramas. With his most recent tvN Sat-Sun drama Romance is a Bonus Book, I’m so meh with Lee Na Young that I tried to hype myself up to … Continue reading →
The list of TW-actresses from the popular idol drama days of the last decade and a half who are married and/or married with baby now significantly outnumber the still single ones. No wonder even the single actresses who are still in their thirties are getting so much pressure. I think love and marriage can’t be forced so congrats to those … Continue reading →
This is great casting news to start off the second weekend of February 2019, not super high profile but definitely welcome along the lines of rising stars getting elevated to leading roles. Ahn Hyo Seob has been confirmed for tvN fantasy drama Abyss opposite Park Bo Young, and for this baby-faced actress who has been acting in movies and dramas … Continue reading →
If all else fails with MBC Mon-Tues drama Item, at least the entire cast showed up at the press conference dressed to impress. I was legit bowled over by every single main cast member dressing for the occasion, with male lead Joo Ji Hoon even going above and beyond and bringing actual style to the proceedings. I LOVE his soft … Continue reading →
The conclusion of a drama is usually time for some post-mortem dissection and K-actor Park Bo Gum was all over the news print ink this week doing interviews about his role in the hit tvN Wed-Thurs night drama Encounter (Boyfriend). It averaged a high mid-8% ratings, putting among the network’s top 10 highest averaged dramas of all time. The viewer … Continue reading →
I think K-actress Han Ji Min is a more capable version of Shin Se Kyung to me, I don’t think they are consistently a good actress but when they hit on the right role it can be magical in how good they deliver onscreen. Shin Se Kyung is like a 2 out of 10 for me so far whereas Han … Continue reading →
Wedding! And what a pretty wedding with a very beaming couple as the first big K-ent news of the lunar new year of the pig. Veteran stage-movie-drama actor Lee Pil Mo married his actress girlfriend Seo Soo Yeon today in Seoul, the two having met on the pretend dating variety show Flavor of Love. I don’t have much commentary as … Continue reading →
I find myself curiously untouched in the heart by new tvN Wed-Thurs drama Touch Your Heart, when I watched the first two episodes it was with a detached and dispassionate engagement despite really excited about it beforehand. The reunion of Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na from Goblin turns out to be just okay, a testament to how that … Continue reading →
I’m going to ask fans of Astro and/or viewers who watched My ID is a Gangnam Beauty to tell me whether idol-turning-actor Cha Eun Woo is good at the latter. I ask because he’s just been offered the leading man role in the upcoming sageuk drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung which will likely star Shin Se Kyung. My only … Continue reading →
If the just premiered tvN Wed-Thurs rom-com Touch Your Heart feels like a total throwback to what a drama rom-com a decade ago looks like, then the upcoming movie Trade Your Love gives off the same vibes and I’m not complaining. Trade Your Love is about an immature heir to an airline chaebol who has to get married to inherit … Continue reading →
The concept of SBS Fri-Sat night K-drama Hot Blooded Priest (The Fiery Priest) sounds like one of those jokes like a priest and a few other religious figures walks into a bar and a difference of perceptions results in lots of luz. In this case, there is definitely laughter to come but Hot Blooded Priest is but the third drama … Continue reading →
With jTBC Fri-Sat night drama Sky Castle ending with sky high ratings, this week the time slot will be taken over by the K-drama adaptation of hit J-dorama Legal High. Starring Jin Goo, Seo Eun Soo, Chae Jung Ahn, and Yoon Park, the the original drama had that flair for theatrics and Japanese quirky aura that I’m seeing from the … Continue reading →
There’s a serious drama heading our way in the middle of 2019 from SBS called Mung Bean Flower. The confirmed main cast signals an effort to cast leads who can act by assembling together Jo Jung Seok, Han Ye Ri, and Yoon Shi Yoon to put on their best revolutionary era bravado. Mung Bean Flower is set in 1985 around … Continue reading →
