I am sooooo excited about this drama, despite it awful beyond belief title. Upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama Greasy Melo (or Oily Melo) is courting Jang Hyuk, Junho, and Jung Ryeo Won for the drama about a small restaurant in a neighborhood and the people who work there and live around the place. Jang Hyuk is being courted for the role … Continue reading →
Filming has started for SBS Wed-Thurs drama Switch: Change the World, which premieres at the end of March after Return. Starring Jang Geun Seok and Han Ye Ri, the drama has the male lead playing two roles, that of a top prosecutor and the swindler who impersonates him to get justice outside the law. Legal dramas have dominated the Wed-Thurs … Continue reading →
PD Ahn Pan Seok is such a master of setting the mood, every drama of his that I’ve watched has conveyed the central story line via a distinct mood so clearly. His last drama Heard it Through the Grapevine was gothic with a black humor infusion yet his upcoming work Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food is bright and airy … Continue reading →
For a high profile K-drama like Hwayugi with a big name cast including my faves Lee Seung Gi and Cha Seung Won, it’s dispiriting that the drama is limping towards the finale weekend with what feels like no buzz. It barely squeezed into the top 5 most buzzed about dramas for February and took an inverse journey of splashy premiere … Continue reading →
A full cast has been assembled this week for spring 2018 jTBC drama Life, not to be confused with the tvN police human interest drama Live that’s premiering earlier. Life stars already confirmed male leads Lee Dong Wook and Jo Seung Woo who will be joined by just announced female leads Won Jin Ah and Moon So Ri. It’s a … Continue reading →
Rom-coms continue to reside in the bottom rung of K-drama ratings to start of 2018, currently airing KBS Mon-Tues workplace romance Radio Romance (more contemplative rom and less com) is getting around 3-4% ratings. Cable network tvN got a solid rom-com win last year with This Life is Our First and now it’s scheduling a late spring rom-com adapted from … Continue reading →
With reigning weekend KBS K-drama king My Golden Life set to wrap up soon, the landscape opens up for a new weekend drama to ramp up a different buzz. Two that I have eyes on are SBS drama Good Witch and MBC drama My Husband Oh Jak Doo. Both dramas released official posters this week tailored to the weekend crowd, … Continue reading →
At this point I’ll believe when he signs on the dotted line, or maybe when he actually starts filming. In the last 6 months Hyun Bin has now been attached to three different K-dramas as the potential leading man. First he was discussed as the leading man along with Jang Dong Gun in sci-fi drama City of Stars. Recently his … Continue reading →
The dominoes are falling faster do deservingly, albeit too late and likely not enough justice and solace for the victims. Today actor Oh Dal Soo announced that he was leaving the upcoming tvN drama My Ahjusshi, which has been filming for over a month now and he plays a major supporting role as one of the three leading brother characters. … Continue reading →
The press conference for upcoming KBS Wed-Thurs drama Mystery Queen 2 is so darn cute and just the goodness I needed after a crazy weekend of sexual harassment news breaking from K-ent. But then I get nervous and wonder if any of the stars of this drama is just one step from being outed and suddenly production is sent into … Continue reading →
Casting is confirmed for upcoming fantasy romance drama Gyeryong Goddess (Legend of the Chicken Dragon Fairy). The drama currently doesn’t have a network yet but is heading into 100% pre-production with leads Kang Sora and Yoon Hyun Min. She plays a heavenly goddess who loses her fairy wings when bathing on earth one day, falling in love and then marrying … Continue reading →
The extent of the sexual harassment allegations against veteran actor Jo Min Ki is starting to come to light and it’s horrific. No wonder the university fired him so quickly, though one wonders how long the university has known but turned the other cheek until more people vocally spoke out in recent days. Currently there are more than five victims … Continue reading →
I so love this InStyle Korea pictorial with young actress Kim Yoo Jung, fresh from graduating high school and ready to dive into her first K-drama rom-com leading lady role. This is an up close and personal shoot and I’m envious of the exquisite complexion of Kim Yoo Jung to let the camera capture thus. But this new pictorial was … Continue reading →
