Filming is underway for MBC‘s next long weekend drama Bad Thief, Good Thief, intriguing both for breaking out of the typical family stories mold for weekend fare and for the nice mix of main leads. Starring Ji Hyun Woo, Seohyun of SNSD, Kim Ji Hoon, and Im Joo Eun, the drama centers around thieves disrupting the shadowy operations of a … Continue reading →
Looks like the baton has passed from cable network tvN to jTBC for the time being, as the formerly underdog network now has two back-to-back drama hits on its hands with Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and now Man to Man. That’ll keep the interest high for the network’s upcoming drama Woman of Dignity when it premieres in June after … Continue reading →
Teaser drama posters for a drama with the word mask in it can get away with not showing us any faces, but the ones for upcoming MBC sageuk Ruler: Master of the Mask did an nice job setting up the duality of the two male leads. One a crown prince and the other a beggar, and somehow their paths crosses … Continue reading →
Okay, these two look way to adorable together already, not that I’m surprised but am still very relieved. The first teaser is out for upcoming KBS drama Fight for My Way (Third Rate My Way), taking over the Mon-Tues time slot from the low rated Ms. Perfect. This drama definitely interests me a million times more than Park Seo Joon‘s … Continue reading →
A great perk of adult stars going public with their relationships is the ability to date in openly without being swaddled in face masks and dodging into residences via the underground garage. Also does good for the world by depriving tabloid bottom feeders like Dispatch a source of income for staking them out. Idol-actress Sooyoung of SNSD and actor Jung … Continue reading →
After the impressively nuanced performance by Yang Mi as the female lead of fantasy romance novel Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, it’s now time to look forward to this summer’s condensed take by Crystal Liu playing the same character in movie length. Bazaar China is taking a first crack at featuring Crystal in a modern muse spread … Continue reading →
Leave it to themselves and to Dispatch for outing one of the more likely reel to real couplings in recent months. Netizen chatter has been crescendo-ing for the last week that Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo costars Nam Joo Hyuk and Lee Sung Kyung are dating in real life much like audiences of their cheerful romance drama have been shipping … Continue reading →
This is legit aging goals right here, and its none other than former Miss Korea turned actress Kim Sung Ryung to show how it’s done. Most recognizable to international drama viewers as playing Lee Min Ho‘s adorable mom in Heirs, Kim Sung Ryung has been acting in K-dramas for three decades and played plenty of female lead roles during her … Continue reading →
I can’t believe in this day and age in 2017 there is still the need for a male idol star to issue an apologetic statement after announcing an impending marriage. Eric of Shinhwa, who has long since his idol debut days transitioned into a legit actor and still managed to maintain his idol roots, recently announced his July 1st wedding to … Continue reading →
OMG this is the bestest drama news ever, now I just want to know what story this is going to be. K-actor Cha Seung Won revealed this weekend during his Japan fan meeting that he’s coming back to the small screen with a K-drama soon, and on top of that it’s going to be a romantic comedy. Win and win! … Continue reading →
Filming has commenced for what is being billed as Taiwan’s adaptation of hit K-drama Descendants of the Sun, but really I think that’s a stretch and more of a marketing ploy. DotS has been referred to as a homage and glorification of military service in Korea, turning what is a mandatory two year purgatory of sorts of all able bodied … Continue reading →
I still rarely watch K-variety shows and the ones I do check out are invariably due to the cast consisting of an actor or actress I like. Cable network jTBC is celebrating the biggest drama hit to date with Strong Woman Do Bong Soon but apparently it’s variety show Crime Scene is also doing well enough to head into the … Continue reading →
The best part of being ahead of the curve is getting done with something before all your peers. I’ve always been a go-getter and it’s great to see born in 1987 Lee Seung Gi do his mandatory military service earlier thann many of his born the same year entertainment industry colleagues. Notable ’87ers enlisting now or later this year include … Continue reading →
