JAW DROP. I have no words. Really, this cannot be happening. But if I were to give my two cents, I would advise Lee Dong Wook to run for his life and not look back. KBS dropped a teensy weensy teaser today for its upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Iron Man airing in two weeks after Joseon Gunman wraps up. JG needed … Continue reading →
Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko has been released from a 14-day administrative detention in a Beijing holding center after testing positive for marijuana at a police bust that went down at a private party two weeks ago. His release was the hottest Chinese and Taiwan media topic all week and over 100 reporters waited outside the detention center to catch him … Continue reading →
A long time ago I thought Lee Min Ho has this edge about him. A bit of an edge when he was in Boys Before Flowers, when he played the character of Gu Jun Pyo there was rawness and unpolished intensity that really captivated me. He hasn’t been able to show that since and has actually gotten more and more … Continue reading →
I always welcome a good daily drama which feels like an unassuming watch that takes nothing out of me. Commitment is not needed since one can stop and go without missing much, and it’s perfect as treadmill fodder. In the last few years, the best SETTV daily is probably still Inborn Pair while Love, Now started off promising but that … Continue reading →
Was there a writer change in Pleasantly Surprised (Love Myself of You) or what? Otherwise how can one explain why there is a freaking kidnapping plot point coming up based on the just released new stills? Kidnapping? You have got to be kidding me. No offense to an event that does happen in real life and happens frequently in dramas … Continue reading →
After today there are two more episodes left of Joseon Gunman and it’s been a really steady and satisfying ride. It makes me ponder whether I like the epic crash and burn excitement or this type of slow burn reliability in my dramas. Probably both and depending on my mood, but if I were rational then the latter is a … Continue reading →
The first video teaser is out for the upcoming SBS drama My Lovely Girl (My Lovable Girl) and its all sorts of inoffensive and pretty. Nothing that hooks me to watch the teaser more than once but also no glaring worrisome elements anywhere in sight. My only odd comment of the day is that seeing Rain and Krystal together totally … Continue reading →
Color me impressed that MBC is actually going forward with this upcoming drama. The network is dying for a big win as last year’s two buzziest dramas were on SBS with You From Another Star and Heirs. The sageuk Empress Ki was a decent success for MBC but one has to dig way way back to nearly three years ago … Continue reading →
I always wonder why it comes across romantic when drama leads spend the night outdoors in each other’s arms like in Joseon Gunman, even when they are dirty and likely smelly I think it’s super swoony. Of course if it was Lee Jun Ki letting me use his shoulder as a pillow, I would sleep in a swamp and still … Continue reading →
If there was a limit to pressing the replay button I would have broken it on the dance teaser MV for Super Junior‘s upcoming first single off its 7th group album. I called them the sunbaes on the K-pop scene in my last post but they really aren’t what with Shinhwa back together and celebrating its 6000th debut day anniversary … Continue reading →
Whelp, shit got real and got there fast for the biggest mess of Kim Hyun Joong‘s career. If it’s of his own making, i.e. courtesy of his fists and feet, then he’s going to have to take responsibility in the end whether through settling with the accuser or actually getting probation/jail time. Either way it’s really between him and his … Continue reading →
I’m starting to get wistful over Joseon Gunman heading into the second-to-last week of its run. Thanks to Iron Man this drama got a 2-episode extension to end next week at episode 22 rather than saying farewell this week already. I’m quite pleased with everything about JG even including the extension which hasn’t sapped the energy away from the story … Continue reading →
I want to start off this episode 4 recap of My Secret Hotel by saying a thank you and a fare thee well to screenwriter Kim Ye Ri. She passed away in her fight with cancer during the production of MSH and ended up only penning the first four episodes of this drama, though she did map out the entire story … Continue reading →
