So I don’t think these folks are virtue signaling or trying to look good but I do think the end result will still never feel satisfactory or get justice for the wronged. South Korea top director Bong Joon Ho of Parasite and many more award winning movie fame held a press conference accompanied by other industry veterans in the acting, directing, and producing fields to publicly demand a formal investigation into the police and media mishandling of Lee Seon Kyun‘s case. They allege the police and media either intentionally or incompetently mishandled the deceased Lee Seon Kyun’s drug use and blackmail allegations which then became public fodder for outrage and castigation of him. It undoubtedly led to the events including firing from movies and loss of CF campaigns all of which involve steep financial penalties. These industry veterans have formed an organization called Association of Solidarity of Cultural Artists and will use this organization going forward to protect the rights of public figures.
