I had two opinion changes last December with two young K-actresses that I never connected with but changed my mind after their most recent roles. The first was Chae Soo Bin in I am Not a Robot as she won me over with a very warm performance. The second and even more impressive is Lee Se Young with a supporting … Continue reading →
The latest character reveals for tvN fantasy drama Hwayugi (A Korean Odyssey) continue to impress with the visuals and creativity. Supporting female leads Bora and Lee Se Young make their debuts in drastically contrasting looks. Bora plays top star Alice under the agency of Cha Seung Won’s Bull Demon King, and she’s a supernatural character as well as the Jade … Continue reading →
A trio of very different but interesting in their own way K-actresses have signed on to upcoming tvN fantasy drama Hwayugi penned by the Hong Sisters. Former idol turned actress Bora (Yoon Bo Ra) is slated to take a supporting role, in a character not based from one in the Chinese classic Journey to the West which is the basis … Continue reading →
The upcoming KBS drama The Best Hit got on my radar when it cast cutie Yoon Si Yoon as the male lead, and has increased my interest thanks to cute teaser stills and now a set of fun drama posters and previews. The drama airs this coming Friday June 2nd in the same time slot that KBS aired the first … Continue reading →
I don’t know what the conceptual going on is happening in the first promo pictures for variety drama The Best Hit but anything with Yoon Si Yoon automatically takes on an adorable tint for me. The KBS drama will air in June in the Fri-Sat time slot, the first for the network since Producer back in 2015, and KBS will … Continue reading →

Nearly two years after the different and ambitious Producer tried out the variety drama melded genre, the network is doing a second go-around with the same format and one … Continue reading →
The first big music-themed K-drama is right around the corner as Big Man wrapped up this week and Lovers of Music (Trot Lovers) readies itself for an upcoming Monday night premiere. KBS has been doing a decent job of toggling around genres when lining up its dramas and a fun rom-com will be a nice treat from the mostly serious … Continue reading →
I tend to have good luck with music-themed K-dramas. Of course now that I’ve mentioned it means some sort of reverse karma will strike and Lovers of Music (Trot Lovers) will fall flat on its face now that I’m so looking forward to it. I like to laugh at drama fate so neener neener on this one, I’m going to … Continue reading →
Seeing the official stills of all the leads in the upcoming Lovers of Music (Trot Lovers) makes me want to yell “Avengers Assemble”, with music lovers substituting for Avengers of course. It’s just three weeks away from the premiere of what is billed as a musical rom-com success story starring Ji Hyun Woo, Jung Eun Ji, Shin Sung Rok, Lee … Continue reading →
Guh, I can’t stand it! How can the main cast of the upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Lovers of Music (literal Korean title Trot Lovers) look this cute already in the script reading stills? This one is promising on the very premise that it’s both a rom-com (yay!) and one of those underdog success stories (double yay!) and even better that … Continue reading →
KBS is going the method acting route in casting its upcoming music industry drama Trot Lovers. The main cast consists of all musician/actor hybrids without a single weak link in the mix. Ji Hyun Woo already confirmed his casting as the male lead when he was discharged from military service last week. KBS had courted one of its favorite young stars … Continue reading →
