There is a period C-drama in development titled Hua Zui Man Tang 花醉满堂 or Drunk Flowers Full Pavilion, and I’ve seen the novel machine translated to Drunk House lol. It was reportedly to star Luo Yun Xi and Yu Shu Xin and was to start production soon, but this week there was a melon that the male lead is Lin Yi now and it would be a reunion with Yu Shu Xin after they filmed Ski into Love last year. There were rumors that Yu Shu Xin had him swapped out because she’s self-conscious that she’s not super duper skinny and was worried she would look bigger onscreen next to him who is very slim. But the reported real reason is that production company and agency Tangren decided to produce this drama and bought the full rights so wants its own agency lead actor Lin Yi as male lead and will also add same agency actress Hu Bing Qing as second female lead. So the swap out albeit has nothing to do with Yu Shu Xin. This stuff happens all the time and it’s a bit perplexing as Luo Yun Xi would undoubtedly be a bigger draw than Lin Yi and bring in more buzz and investment.
