The K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin hit the halfway mark this week so there’s been more than enough acting and story to gauge the audience preferences. By midway through BBJX it was clear who was firmly on Team 4th Prince versus Team 8th Prince, or was like me who appreciated both men for their love of Ruo Xi but … Continue reading →
The Korean adaptation of Chinese time-traveling romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin may be an indisputable ratings flop with domestic Korean audiences, with ratings in the 5-6% range, but it’s now also an indisputable runaway success with Chinese online viewing audiences. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) just crossed the 1 billion views mark this week with the release … Continue reading →
The Korean three major networks swap pole positions all the time with drama ratings but it’s especially funny to see the swap happen in two direct head-to-head showdowns. SBS won the Mon-Tues ratings during the summer with the neurosurgery Doctors, while KBS‘s own medical brain surgeon drama Beautiful Mind was such a ratings down that it even got cut short … Continue reading →
The disappointing Korean domestic premiere ratings for the first three episodes of K-adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin may take a herculean effort on the production team to reverse. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) is mired in just 7% ratings but there’s good news over the strait in China where the drama has broken 300 million views is … Continue reading →
It’s time to render first opinions after giving the K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin a three episode premiere week to get the ball rolling. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) doesn’t appear to be the potential ratings winner that having such a star-studded cast and huge promotional roll out ought to bring in the viewers, the third episode only … Continue reading →
The showdown of the Mon-Tues sageuks has an out of the gate winner – congrats to KBS youth period drama Moonlight Drawn by Clouds for vaulting in the ratings for episode 3 this Monday and taking the runaway lead against premiering SBS rival Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo). Moonlight jumped a cool 7.5% in ratings to hit AGG … Continue reading →
Looks like all it took was a K-drama adapted from a popular Chinese source novel for the rumored Chinese entertainment ban on K-ent to be lifted. The K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling With Each Step) has just set a new record for highest per episode price sold to China for online broadcast – each episode sold for US … Continue reading →
There’s always a point-counterpoint in liking aspects of a drama and it looks like the first OST from Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) is going to be polarizing. I loved the teaser snippet released earlier this week and after hearing the full track “For You” by Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin of EXO I love it even more. It’s … Continue reading →
This is such cruel teasing by the production of SBS drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo). How can they release such a stirring first OST clip for the Korean adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin and not expect me to be chafing for the entire track. I was wondering which of the drama leads would be contributing songs … Continue reading →
Three out of six hotties isn’t a bad get for SBS variety show Running Man, especially if it’s three goofy and talented actors who have built up a bromance over the last six months playing onscreen brothers. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) is about to premiere on August 29th on SBS and the promo circuit is now crossing … Continue reading →
Looks like the full set of drama posters is now complete for the Korean adaptation of well known Chinese time-traveling period novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step). Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo will premiere on SBS Mon-Tues starting August 29th, and with it all these drama posters will get plenty of limelight and for that I’m mostly … Continue reading →
Okay, I’m officially in love with Lee Jun Ki‘s version of 4th Prince from Bu Bu Jing Xin. I know it increases the odds for disappointment to fall for a character in advance of watching the drama but holy drama gods is he’s insanely gorgeous and dangerous in all the right sageuk male lead ways. In the newest preview for … Continue reading →
Lest we forgot it’s just OTP romance and/or princes in the upcoming K-drama adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin, the production is officially introducing the last piece of the cast pie in the supporting female cast and one funny man in Kim Sung Kyun whatever weird explorer/investor fella he’s playing. All of the supporting actresses from the C-version of BBJX … Continue reading →
