It’s the annual time where the elusive Gong Yoo emerges from the private sphere back to the public spotlight in order to promote an acting project. He has been doing one movie a year for the last few years, which is better than a movie every five years like Won Bin, but still much less than I want in order to see him more often onscreen. Gong Yoo’s upcoming movie is the forbidden romance A Man and a Woman costarring Korea’s top acclaimed actress Jeon Do Yeon.

I hate adultery stories for the most part so the movie doesn’t appeal to me even with such a charismatic gorgeous duo, but luckily having a movie to promote means lots of corresponding goodies. Gong Yoo and Jeon Do Yeon’s movie is set in Finland so W Korea flew them back out to film a pictorial that captures the heady romanticism of the locale and the attraction of the two characters from the movie. It’s not pretty in the conventional sense but the spread is eye-catching with a visceral energy.
