So I marathoned MBC youth romance with a twist Extraordinary You over the weekend and am in LOVE and planning to rewatch existing episodes again just to catch all the details better. There’s a ton of characters at the high school and performance wise none stand out as much as second male lead Lee Jae Wook. He’s just got IT, … Continue reading →
It’s like the screenwriter can read my mind and gives me everything I ask for and more with The Tale of Nokdu. I get tired of Nokdu cross-dressing and the widow’s village is wiped out, he returns to being a dude permanently, and the action moves to Hanyang and the central birth secret and palace intrigue plot. The romance also … Continue reading →
Upcoming Channel A drama Vacation in My Own Way (Casual Vacation) has Eric lined up for his comeback and now is in talks for Go Won Hee as the leading lady. The drama is described as a warm healing story for those rushing around in life to stop and appreciate what’s around them. Eric plays a top Korean food chef … Continue reading →
At this point even calling Vagabond a thriller is a stretch. It’s more of a fantasy or even sci-fi tale, where reality isn’t so much hinted at the improbable as it is totally just plain impossible. Episodes 11-12 felt like a long episode of trains, planes, and automobiles, but more ship and automobile only as leads Lee Seung Gi and … Continue reading →
It’s a tear-free and lovely reunion for costars Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min at the handprint ceremony for the 2018 Blue Dragon Awards. They, along with previous year winners Kim Hyang Gi and Kim Da Mi, put their hands into a mold to commemorate their awards in the acting categories. Han Ji Min and Nam Joo Hyuk surpassed … Continue reading →
A 2020 K-drama is getting the lead cast squared away and looks to pair two talented actors from different generations. Jung So Min is in talks for Soul Repairman which is also starring Shin Ha Kyun. The story doesn’t sound like a romance so I don’t need to bemoan the vast age difference. The story is about people working to … Continue reading →
I’m glad I was taught less is more, or always think twice before doing something, or even write what you feel but don’t press send until coming back later. I wished someone had told this wannabe Insta model and small time star who just got deserving hit with a tidal wave of criticism. I know that K-star Sulli‘s death triggered … Continue reading →
Okay, the cast of upcoming SBS Mon-Tues drama VIP have convinced me to check it solely on their ability to use their leads to form the letters VIP at the press conference. That’s way better than finger hearts and fist pumps, it shows a dedication to their drama and a great sense of cheeky humor. VIP marks the return of … Continue reading →
I confess that this K-drama completely was not on my radar, pre-production or even a few weeks after it aired. But the word-of-mouth is impossible to ignore and now MBC Wed-Thurs drama Extraordinary You is a certified cult hit in both Korea and streaming in China. It’s a high school drama and romance with a twist – the female lead … Continue reading →
Time keeps going and sometimes a pause is enough to find the strength to keep moving on. Singer IU is returning with a mini-album titled Love Poem, originally scheduled for release this week but now pushed back to November 1st due to the untimely passing of her good friend Sulli last week. What was normally great news now feels tempered … Continue reading →
Another drama still has emerged for upcoming tvN romance Crash Landing on You and it’s pretty old school Hallyu-rrific, if that’s your cup of tea. Female lead Son Ye Jin appears to pat male lead Hyun Bin on the head with a small smile of her face while he’s intently staring at her. He’s wearing his North Korean military officer … Continue reading →
It’s fairly certain that formerly top K-pop group Big Bang is over as we now it after over a decade run on top. Member Seungri‘s scandal this year is just too much to sweep under the rug plus there are other members dealing with their own problems. G-Dragon has been in the military for the last two years so it’s … Continue reading →
Summer is over but it still looks and feels like it in the latest stills of K-actress Kim Yoo Jung for her show Kim Yoo Jung’s Half Holiday in Italy. I’m guessing its only half a holiday since she’ll be working part time during her travels, and for a young person that’s even cooler if you ask me. There is … Continue reading →
