Hur, this sounds so random but kind cool concept. A new K-movie has been announced titled Wild Thing and will star Kang Dong Won, Lim Ji Yeon, and Uhm Tae Goo, so a very strong acting cast for sure. It’s about three friends who formed the mixed gender rock band Triangle in their youth but breaks up over something scandalous. … Continue reading →
This weekend was the 2024 Blue Dragon Film Awards held in Seoul and all the big movie stars were out and about, including one who recently had quite a paternity scandal haha. The big winners were the movie 12.12: The Day (Seoul Spring) winning Best Picture but Best Director went to Exhuma director Jang Hae Hyun so the two movies basically … Continue reading →
So the big Tsui Hark directed Legend of the Condor Heroes movie isn’t out yet but he must be very pleased with male lead Xiao Zhan because industry chatter says he’s offered the male lead in his next movie to him as well. It’s a female lead centric action movie Shih, Queen of the Sea based on a female pirate … Continue reading →
Man, when the music played I just flashed way way back to the good old times of the golden era of TVB HK-dramas of the 1980’s. HK-director Tsui Hark is coming back with his take on Louis Cha‘s novel Legend of the Condor Heroes and all signs point to this being a HUGE movie. Legend of the Condor Heroes: The … Continue reading →
There is a social hierarchy in C-ent where the award winning veterans are presumed to be top of the awards pecking order. Earlier this year Wang Yibo fans got upset that his War of Faith costar veteran Wang Yang got a Best Actor nomination over him despite Wang Yang having less screentime, they called it unfair that Wang Yang who … Continue reading →
One of the more entertaining movies I watched in 2022 was TW horror-comedy Marry My Dead Body, which I checked out for Greg Hsu (Hsu Guang Han) and the premise but left with a new appreciation for second male lead Austin Lin (Lim Bo Hong). It was a brilliant casting of the two very similar looking actors in straight/gay and … Continue reading →
This is Golden Week in Mainland China, the whole week off celebrating National Day on October 1 and a great time to release movies second only to the lunar new year holiday break. So all the vibes I was getting from Zhao Lu Si filming C-drama Love’s Ambition with Willian Chan was that it was a romance drama. So to hear that it’s adapted from the novel The Unseen Sister (大乔小乔 Da Qiao Xiao Qiao) and that the novel is getting a big screen adaptation with Zhao Li Ying and Xin Zhi Lei … Continue reading →
So advertising a movie is an art because you have short snippets to interest the audience and if there is a twist also keeping it under wraps. The upcoming modern romance movie Love in the Big City is being criticized by K-netizens after the new posters and previews are out for majorly misleading viewers with its promos. From the promos … Continue reading →
So ever since Goblin in 2016 the two male leads Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook have been reunited for casual hangouts and even entertainment activity collaborations showing off their bromance and doubling up the good looking Korean man visuals. Seeing the onscreen and offscreen collab of Hyun Bin with Lee Dong Wook as the two attended the Harbin movie … Continue reading →
I love seeing so many talented K-stars in one movie and bonus points for this one getting lots of attention thanks to male lead Hyun Bin who keeps on picking interesting and challenging roles. The movie is called Harbin and is of course set in the titular city but in the early 1900’s era when the region was on the … Continue reading →
Next week the K-movie The Land of Happiness will arrive in South Korean theaters and with it conclude the acting career of top actor Lee Seon Kyun. It is the last project in his oeuvre and the second to last movie Project Silence was released last month in July. It’s been a bad summer in the SK box office and … Continue reading →
