The biggest Netflix K-drama of 2024 as anticipated has kicked off promos as the platform released the first official stills for Squid Game 2. I liked but didn’t love the drama but it was a bona fide global phenomenon when it aired in early 2021 and carried the wave of pandemic claustrophobia and fear of financial insecurity paired with gameplay entertainment. The sequel arrives three years later with the return of Lee Jung Jae as the male lead along with fellow A-listers Gong Yoo and Lee Byung Hun but not sure how big their roles are compared to what was essential guest starring roles in the original drama. Park Kyu Young is a newcomer along a big group of famous Korean star additions and the first stills released show these four stars first in character.
