The producers of the upcoming C-drama Happy Noodle with Yoon Si Yoon and Li Fei Er have released a concept poster, which has such bad photoshopping its actually quaint. I’m still wrapping my head around dubbing over my Si Yoon’s magnaificent voice, but I think seeing him onscreen so soon outweighs the negatives. Check out the poster below, plus I’ve … Continue reading →
Such a cute cast! The currently filming C-drama Love Actually with Lee Da Hae, Joe Cheng, Li Yi Feng, and Anna Fang held a press conference yesterday to start the first step of promoting this drama. It will air this Summer so that is quite a fast turnaround time, but Summer is the perfect time to air a frothy rom-com. … Continue reading →
I knew this ride wouldn’t last forever, the amazing magical chemistry and relationship between heroine Mi En and second male lead Han Xiang in Fondant Garden. Seven episodes in, there is always at least one scene between them per episode that has me squealing like a stuck pig, in between heart beating wildly and smiling like I just spotted a … Continue reading →
2013 is going to be the year of the Tong Hua novel-to-drama adaptations, with three of her novels ranging from currently being filmed to being cast, all aiming for a 2013 broadcast. All three are being helmed by different production companies, so it’ll be a competition to see who did the best with the casting to the filming. Da Mo … Continue reading →
Rainie Yang is one of those actresses that has chemistry with any of her leading men. ANY. One of her more famous pairings is with Show Luo, who is a singer and MC more than he’s an actor. They were cute in Hi My Sweetheart, even if the drama was wack. I heard Rainie and Show were in Australia last … Continue reading →
You know, I just might have to accept that Yu Zheng is a flat out insane drama producer. His loco casting choices for his adaptation of The Swordsman have been causing extreme cases of laughter and spitting up blood in C-fandom, but he doesn’t seem to do it to drum up publicity or whore out his projects, unlike Ladyboss over … Continue reading →
When I heard this news I let out a bloodcurdling screech. Yoon Si Yoon has been cast as the lead of an upcoming C-drama called Happy Noodle. Normally I’m all for K-actors heading overseas to make dramas in China or Taiwan. It’s never going to be a cinematic masterpiece, but it’s good for their careers and a welcome change of … Continue reading →
Yu Zheng actually has a sense of humor. It’s evil, but hella hilarious considering he caused a near riot with his one weibo today. Yumama announced that he was making casting changes for his adaptation of The Swordsman, with Han Dong playing Dong Fang Bu Bai, Chen Qiao En playing Ren Ying Ying, and Yuan Shan Shan playing Dong Fang … Continue reading →
You know, Ti Amo Chocolate actually looks quite promising. With Inborn Pair about to wrap up its run, Ti Amo Chocolate with Vanness Wu and Joanne Zheng have released a slew of teasers that showcase a variety of moods and plot lines. Yes, there is shades of Coffee Prince with Joanne cross-dressing as a boy and the whole mistaken gender … Continue reading →
It always feels nice when a reported drama casting turns out to be true, as opposed to dangling dream pairings before fans and then going “oops” afterwards. The cast of the upcoming idol period drama Lan Ling Wang (The King of Lan Ling or Masked Beauty) attended a press conference this week in Beijing to kick off filming. The two … Continue reading →
In my whirlwind busier than usual life last week, when I finished translating Da Mo Yao, I didn’t realize that I forgot to add a few more paragraphs to the end of the epilogue. Nothing mindblowing, but it is needed to complete the ending nevertheless. It’s been added back to the final chapter of DMY (click here to read). Since I … Continue reading →
[I can’t even fathom why this happened but I am being blocked from my own website in the country I am currently in, so I am posting via my IPhone until my business trip ends. I am weirded out and vastly annoyed.] So it’s finally here. Last week saw the upcoming Yu Zheng adaptation of the famed Louis Cha wuxia … Continue reading →
Momma say whut? I feel like someone dropped me in a fairy glen and then fed me some acid-laced marshmallows. In what might be a casting trio no human being could possibly have jammed together into one drama, fast-rising and talented C-actress Wang Luo Dan has just been cast in the Hunan TV‘s 2013 new year launching modern C/TW drama … Continue reading →
