OMG to the nth degree! I must’ve been so blinded by the Aaron Yan prettiness (who can blame me, the boy is ridiculously gorgeous) not to notice the actual substance behind his upcoming TW-drama Alice in Wonder City. Once I found out who the scriptwriter was, I went from mildly curious to 120 mph I-want-this-drama-NOW. Alice is written by the … Continue reading →
While I found TW-drama Love Forward really really boring and checked out after a few episodes, I did think the cast had great chemistry. I just didn’t like any of the characters, and found the story strangely odd and dull. The ratings for the drama is literally stagnant at around 2.5 (nowhere near Office Girls 5 and higher), which is decent … Continue reading →
Whether or not the purported sequel to Bu Bu Jing Xin is a go or he’s even in it, Nicky Wu isn’t stopping for a minute in his back-to-back-to-back drama filming. He’s about to start filming his third drama since wrapping BBJX last year, and it’s his first time returning to the wuxia genre since he was the titular Xiao Shiyilang in drama … Continue reading →
Dang it! Now imma going to have watch this sucker. I Love You So Much is about to wrap up in 2 weeks in what might be a trainwreck of an ending to a trainwreck of a drama. CTS decided the drama made no sense anyway so ran a viewer voting contest to decide whether the leading lady ends up … Continue reading →
Wait for it……and now the other shoe drops. Tangren touted loud and clear four months ago that Bu Bu Jing Xin 2 was a go with the same cast but set in a modern era, back then I was innocent and trusting and believed everything they said. Forget no contracts were signed, no script was written, and some nebulous August 2012 … Continue reading →
And…..they’re off to the races! The cast of the upcoming period C-drama King of Lan Ling gathered in Hen Dian yesterday for the kick off of principal filming. While leads Ariel Lin and Danial Chan were in full costume, the titular King of Lan Ling himself Feng Shao Feng had his hair piece on but paired it with a track suit. … Continue reading →
Hhhhmmm, this might be the first Yu Zheng drama I’m looking forward to. Though my reasons are totally unrelated to how interesting the drama looks. The upcoming Female Prime Minister (Nu Xiang), about the only female prime minister in thousands of years of Chinese history, Prime Minister Lu Zheng of the Northern Qi dynasty, has just released a pretty gorgeous … Continue reading →
After months of speculation and paparazzi hounding, Mark Chao confirmed today during the press conference for the China release of Black & White the movie that he is indeed dating famed C-actress Gao Yuan Yuan. Mark, you sly dog, how’d you get such a gorgeous and talented lady? Ha ha, I’m totally kidding, though I’m happy to report that the … Continue reading →
I’ve already rendered my initial opinion of Da Mo Yao the drama (miscast, shoddy costuming and wacky set pieces, sure-to-be poor CGI based on Tangren track record). I’m fine being proven wrong, but I doubt that will happen. I’m genuinely not following the filming, except this bit of stunning casting news hit my news feed and I had no choice … Continue reading →
Potential new C-couple alert! After a few months of fan sightings and media speculation, the not-yet-confirmed couple of Han Geng and Kiton Jiang continue their game of no-comment to the press. I’ve heard about this new couple for a few months now, but I was waiting to get more confirmation before posting about it. This week Han Geng stormed off … Continue reading →
I want now. Okay, that was a bit rude. How about this – I really need this please, good sir. The upcoming reunited-twins-C-drama Fairytale starring Lee Joon Hyuk, Janine Chang, and Peer Zhu released a 30-minute trailer that had me glued to the screen. It wasn’t good, per se, it was just drama crack. Complete with a horrific Cousin It … Continue reading →
The Korean trickle towards Chinese dramas has become a flood at this point. If your favorite K-actor or actress disappears from the K-ent news cycle for some time, chances are that he or she is making a C- or TW-drama. No joke, I can count over a dozen dramas being made or airing right now with K-stars in the lead. … Continue reading →
This story gets cuter every time Ariel is asked about it, and the TW-media is all over it right now. Ariel Lin has been even more of a media darling since her hit drama In Time With You really connected with viewers and critics alike. Folks were sad when she announced she would not do any more dramas due to … Continue reading →
