Woah momma does this look potentially fantastic. I’ve been all over the production of C-drama Lady and Liar since the very beginning primarily due to the story line being lifted from a classic shoujo manga Hakushaku Reijou (伯爵令嬢 or The Earl’s Daughter). I loved that manga as a kid and now that I’m watching dramas more the plot is totally … Continue reading →
It’s such a refreshing change of recapping pace to tackle a drama like Dr. Stranger. This drama hits all the right spots for me but in a different way than the other dramas I’ve recapped recently. It’s action-packed and emotionally stirring, with a great OTP romance that fairly cries out for defying all odds, plus tons of easy to hate … Continue reading →
Watching Big Man is akin to checking something out that is not proofread by the writer yet. The writer has a good idea coupled with facile execution but didn’t bother to read through it to make sure the concept as envisioned actually works. That leaves the viewer as the proofreader so the takeaway is to brush aside what doesn’t work … Continue reading →
Ji Hyun Woo was discharged from the army yesterday after completing his two years mandatory military service. In order of the most shocking things to emerge from his media meet-and-greet outside his army base was hearing his awkwardly brush off answering any questions about Yoo In An and seeing him show off her pearly whites encased in braces. The former … Continue reading →
Hold on to your horses because here comes Dr. Stranger like a shot to the heart. Today I watched all three new (or pretty new) primetime K-dramas on the Mon-Tues time slot and have decided to recap Dr. Stranger over Triangle and Big Man. It’s not a measure of quality because it’s yet early to see which horse comes out … Continue reading →
I was waiting to see if episode 3 of Big Man narratively inspired me enough to pick up recapping it. Sadly it doesn’t. Structuring an entire story around a far-fetched heart theft murder attempt only works because the writing takes it seriously and deals with the fall out, plus Kang Ji Hwan sells the heck out of leading man Ji … Continue reading →
My baby boy went off to the army! Not just to any military division, Yoon Si Yoon quietly enlisted in the most hardcore marines this past week with no media coverage until after he left. I heard about it a month ago when his agency confirmed that he had been accepted into the marines and that he was planning to … Continue reading →
Who’s ready for Triangle in a few hours? I’ve been so there since the moment Lee Bum Soo got cast but the more I see of the teasers the more the story looks right up my alley as well. I loved all of Giant and slogged through East of Eden for Song Seung Heon and Park Hae Jin along with the … Continue reading →
I thought maybe my inexplicable excitement for Dr. Stranger was the result of my last crack drama ending in Bride of the Century and nothing on my plate currently that captures my full attention. But with so many K-dramas line-up on the starting gate for this week’s premiere central I’m still really looking forward to Dr. Stranger so my anticipation for … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye is a talented entertainer in more ways that her award-winning acting career or her high profile start as the maknae member of idol group Baby V.O.X. She is known for being very creative and her dabbling in fashion design has now officially extended to the handbag arena with the launch earlier this week of a sub-line of … Continue reading →
Oh what one drama can do to render a change of opinion in either good or bad ways. Yoona of SNSD won be over in Prime Minister and I and that’s that. It’s not clear if my fondness and goodwill for her will remain if she slides backward in future acting projects, but for now it’s without reservation that I … Continue reading →
For the 10th anniversary edition of Men’s Uno China magazine, the publication went all out and tapped 10 of the hottest celebrities in Mainland China to be on one of its 10 unique covers. I wonder whose job that was and could I have it? The result is a yummilicious collection of celebs not limited to Chinese actors but also … Continue reading →
This is supremely good news and a boon for drama lovers everywhere if the casting is indeed confirmed. Ji Hyun Woo is coming out of the army in mere days and KBS clearly knows a good thing (man) when they see one because they’ve extended an offer for him to star in its upcoming Mon-Tues drama Trot Lovers. This isn’t … Continue reading →
