Not all drama romances and love stories are equal. Some are more unforgettable than others due to the sheer angst factor, but such epic tales never induce anyone to say “hey, I really wish I experienced a love like that!” The college romance in In A Good Way evokes exactly that sentiment, the heady realistic scent of first love that … Continue reading →
The last chapter of Lost You Forever was a much needed dense back story of Xiao Yao and her cousin Zhuan Xu, but it also pushed the story forward in a new direction now that everyone is back at Xuan Yuan Mountain. From the Southern tips of Gao Xing to the Northern edges of Xuan Yuan, the vast wilderness is … Continue reading →
This is not good. I keep repeating the newest song off the Bride of the Century OST Choa‘s “Words I Couldn’t Say Yet” while staring pictures of Lee Hong Ki as Kang Joo. I thought my addiction to BotC was at manageable levels but might actually be one of those silent killers that will render me completely devoid of ability … Continue reading →
A huge and exciting cast confirmation today for the upcoming SBS drama It’s Okay, It’s Love which will be the first prime time Summer drama to lock down a cast. The two big name A-lister leads Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin will indeed be pairing up for the first time in their long careers, with the added bonus … Continue reading →
I’m intrigued about but not wildly looking forward to the upcoming MBC weekend drama Hotel King like all the My Girl fans dying for the reunion of Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae. Years ago I would have been, but my MG affection has waned since the drama really doesn’t hold up on rewatch with the wafer thin plot … Continue reading →
When the first rumored casting of Lee Bum Soo, Song Seung Heon, and Im Shi Wan as separated brothers who reunite as adults for the upcoming MBC drama Triangle was floated, I was all for it even if I think only one out of the three can act. The other two are eye candy enough for me to take it … Continue reading →
Whenever an idol boy wows me as an actor, I may love the darling to death but I remain blissfully uninvolved in his side career of the singing and dancing variety. K-pop is breezy fun but nothing I would spend time following along with. That said, to learn that the few idol boys who have wowed me are besties is … Continue reading →
At this point I’m ticking off the K-drama cliches that have yet to make an appearance in this drama. Terminal illness would be awesome and if the Bride of the Century writers can bake it in seamlessly like they’ve baked every cliche in so far, then this drama is heading towards epic levels of silly sensibility. I don’t know how … Continue reading →
I’ll confess to being completely uninterested in the upcoming tvN drama Witch’s Romance, the remake of the popular TW-drama My Queen starring Ethan Ruan, Cheryl Yang, and James Wen. My Queen is one of those rare TW-dramas that was truly qualitatively excellent, though the usual extension to milk the stellar ratings ruined the second half momentum. But the acting and … Continue reading →
The three God kingdoms that coexisted in Once Promised has become just two kingdoms when Lost You Forever rolls around. We’ve spent time in the Gao Xing Kingdom where Xiao Yao’s dad rules as the Grand Emperor, and where her cousin Zhuan Xu was pretty much educated and trained after he started to become a threat to his Xuan Yuan … Continue reading →
The episode 7 dose of Bride of the Century arrived a day earlier than usual as this drama has moved time slots on cable network Chosun TV from Saturday-Sunday at 8 pm to a more adult time of Friday-Saturday at 11 pm. Dare I hope for some hot sizzling action to come? This is the network that had Yoo Seung … Continue reading →
This isn’t a particularly arresting or interesting clothing endorsement ad campaign, whether standalone or as one of Jang Geun Seok‘s many endorsement deals over the years. What makes this Spring 2014 ad campaign for clothing brand Ferrino worth posting about is the double whammy combo of the clothes are pretty hideous but Jang Geun Seoks look great with his new … Continue reading →
The Sunday Taiwan drama dead air slump has been going on for almost a year now, with the last drama in the timeslot that I loved and watched the whole way through being King Flower (Substitute Princess) almost a year ago. Since then it hasn’t just been SETTV, none of the offerings in any of the networks in that timeslot … Continue reading →
