The Sunday Taiwan drama dead air slump has been going on for almost a year now, with the last drama in the timeslot that I loved and watched the whole way through being King Flower (Substitute Princess) almost a year ago. Since then it hasn’t just been SETTV, none of the offerings in any of the networks in that timeslot … Continue reading →
I can’t think of a more enjoyable and angst-free hour of television than episode 17 of In a Good Way. It was an episode solely around dating, ranging from doing interesting activities together and even an unexpected overnight stay that yielded the most laugh out loud moments ever in this drama. I actually had to stop the video because I … Continue reading →
I’m always thrilled to run across an interesting or pretty photo shoot that happens to involve an actor or actress I like. One without the other just doesn’t have much impact on me. Im Joo Hwan is an actor near and dear to my heart but I don’t about him as often as I like since it’s been years since … Continue reading →
I don’t know how In a Good Way trots out a still like the one above for the upcoming episode 17 and except me to keep calm until it airs. Kirsten Jen is clearly loving all that attention from three hot guys above, though Lego Lee really out of character since I can’t imagine Liu Chuan ever leering at Jia En … Continue reading →
This chapter is a very Jing-Xiao Yao centric chapter of Lost You Forever after a very Xiang Liu heavy last chapter. The male leads page time alternates a lot in this novel and all of this will continue to fuel the shipping wars and mess with Xiao Yao’s heart. Thankfully she’s really not a girly girl even if she does … Continue reading →
I think it’s official that we have the birth of a new epic and memorable onscreen pairing, peeps! The leads of the currently airing cable K-drama Crack Bride of the Century attended a mid-drama open media event this week to drum up more interest in a drama that has all the makings of a mania hit plus it’s ratings have … Continue reading →
I don’t quite know what to expect from the upcoming Director Winnie helmed TW-drama You Light Up My Star starring Janine Chang and Joe Cheng. It’s set in the acting industry and the male lead apparently suffers from depression. It sounds rather serious except all the media accounts of the filming has been nothing short of a laugh a minute. … Continue reading →
With the juggernaut that was You From Another Star ending two weeks ago, last week the Wed-Thurs ratings game rejiggered itself and the problem plagued KBS drama Age of Feeling (Inspiring Generation) actually came out on top though it was by slim margins over second place Three Days and third place Sly and Single Again (Cunning Single Lady). That’s still … Continue reading →
I really can’t complain that Korea only knows how to pair up older men with pretty young things, the industry has objectified its share of strapping young men and now seems quite on a roll with the older woman-young man (noona-dongsaeng) offering. I think cable does it better and the recently wrapped up tvN drama I Need Romance 3 had … Continue reading →
I’m being uber tentative with the upcoming SETTV tentpole Sunday night idol drama Fall in Love with Me (literal translation of the Chinese title would be Fall in Love with Two of Me). The network has dramas that work for me unexpectedly, while others more highly touted end up being total fails. Aaron Yan wouldn’t have landed his first headlining … Continue reading →
It’s funny how Lee Hong Ki just has that “it” factor. I know plenty of folks who loved him in You’re Beautiful but I confess his character annoyed me and was rather inconsequential to the overall narrative I tuned him out to the degree I can’t even opine as to whether he acted well in that role or not. So … Continue reading →
KBS Mon-Tues have been mostly a ratings sinkhole. In the entire last year, the only two dramas to do decently in that time slot were Good Doctor and Queen of the Office. The list of failures with big stars and big budgets lay like fallen casualty: Shark, Marry Him If You Dare, Ad Genius Lee Tae Bak, and Prime Minister … Continue reading →
Xiao Yao is back to being a girl in Lost You Forever, but not just any girl, she’s a Princess with bloodlines that are the most illustrious in the entire vast wilderness. Her grandfather is the Yellow Emperor and her grandmother was Empress Xi Ling Lei Zhu, the powerful daughter of one of the Four Great Clans. Xiao Yao’s mother … Continue reading →
