At this point Miss Rose has settled into another one of my Sunday routines – my latte, a copy of the New York Times Sunday edition, and the latest episode of MR. Episode 18 was once again wonderfully sweet and funny in that Miss Rose low key way. I have to admit that the dragging pace has really set in, with … Continue reading →
A drama obsession can flicker on in the most impossible to predict and oftentimes inconsequential of ways. All it took was one look, from him to her, and I was lost. Even as I bemoan the writing lapses in Missing You, I find myself looking for ways to make the drama make sense, if only to add to the enjoyment … Continue reading →
I love love love Drama Go Go Go. I’m all caught up to episode 6 (with episodes 7-8 airing this weekend) and this drama remains the funniest, sweetest, most sane cracky rom-com I’ve seen since Sunny Happiness. The lead characters are all totally functional, smart, sassy, and thoughtful people who make decisions that all make sense and are relatable. Ruby … Continue reading →
Cheongdamdong Alice continues its slow descent into underwhelming with the release of official character stills and the third teaser. Can somebody in the production team actually put some heart and creativity in it? The character stills are so dull I think I developed narcolepsy just staring at them. Park Shi Hoo‘s hair is much better than it looked initially but … Continue reading →
If I were Nostro-Koala then I would predict that the next craaaaaaaaack drama will be Flower Boy Next Door. Who wants to lay down bets now? It’s a rom-com, and goodness sakes the K-drama world needs a genuine rom-com like a desert traveler needs an oasis. It stars the triumvirate of Park Shin Hye, Yoon Si Yoon, and Kim Ji … Continue reading →
I was wondering if I should do this post next month but I know I’ll get too busy with year end work crunch plus the holiday prep not to mention this year I’m traveling again back to Asia the last two weeks of December. It’s better to start now and I’m sure this will be fun for everyone. I always … Continue reading →
Never fear, I haven’t quietly dropped Miss Rose! I’m just woefully behind on recapping and I need to spank myself to get back on track. Sorry to those few fans of this drama who love it as much as I do. The TW-dramas that tend to get more love are the ones that are closest to K-dramas in terms of … Continue reading →
With the 2012 Summer J-dorama season wrapped up nicely for me, I had one great obsession in Rich Man, Poor Woman among the lot of offerings so its nice to see it getting some additional recognition. The ratings were just alright and it didn’t seem to generate a lot of buzz in Japan when it aired. For the 74th annual … Continue reading →
I know I’m totally Yoo Seung Ho-bombing the playground here, which you can either chalk up to momentary madness or the honest truth that the boy is beyond winning in his role as Kang Hyung Joon in Missing You. As usual, ignore me if this isn’t your thing, all my obsessions wane eventually. During yesterday’s episode 6 of MY, both … Continue reading →
Now that the adult actors have arrived, the ratings for Missing You keep rocketing upward likely due to the combination of super weak competition (The Great Seer is a complete failure and Jeon Woo Chi has started off awkward and not very coherent) and a solid one-two-three acting punch in popular young actors Yoochun, Yoon Eun Hye, and Yoo Seung Ho (heh, … Continue reading →
Much as I want to park myself in front of the computer to recap Missing You episode 6, at least the Soo Yeon-Hyung Joon scenes, I’ve got a giant turkey to wrangle and a bajillion delicious side dishes to conjure up. I wish I had a magic wand. Or minions. Either will do. So I’ll have to see what I … Continue reading →
I was all looking forward to Lee Seung Gi‘s return to dramaland early next year with his fantasy sageuk when the boy up and snuck a mini-album drop on me this week. Sometimes it’s so refreshing to be pleasantly surprised, and to say the song and MV for Seung Gi’s first single off the mini-album is simply pleasant is an … Continue reading →
It’s saying something that I put the poster for Chen Qiao En’s character from the upcoming Yu Zheng drama adaptation of the novel Xiao Ao Jiang Hu (Smiling Proud Wanderer) to top this post. After wrapping filming during the Summer, the official posters and first trailer is out for The Swordsman starring Wallace Huo as Linghu Chong, Yuan Shan Shan … Continue reading →
